Many years ago when my children were in their early teens,I made a decision that I was not going to be preparing excess in ramadan.we would eat simple fresh and do more ibada.at this time where I lived this eating fresh was normal.now every one are more in line with what they do every where else. I believe that hadith is weak where there is mention of a martyr having to wait to enter jannah as it is contradictory of more authentic hadith. This hadith inculcates a desire to live longer in order to complete more ramadan hence the longer you live the more rewards and status you attain. Thereby any young mujahid who attains shahadah is in a lower grade than one who returns and lives comfortably to old age. This is not justice and Allah is just. The test is not about how long we live on earth but how we spend the time given to us by Allah and how we meet him in the end.
