Some extra info: The "Crushing Death" animation is very universal. It's also used for death by disease, pits, stones from mangonels and slingers ... and even for melee kills from macemen, monks, tunnelers, slaves and slingers.

funny thing is, this wasn't even planned. I just wanted to wait till the horse sound disappeared. Just in the final video I realized that the stone that came afterwards had a really smooth transition to the next unit :D

0:33 Never noticed they actually try to get back up again after being shot. You can really tell the developers had the time and passion to even fresh up such minute things as death animations you barely get to notice given how cluttered the screen is with activity. Cheers for compiling them!

Can our troops die by falling from the ladder? Yesterday, when my macemen were climbing the ladder, I accidentally moved the laddermen. I didn't notice immediately, but it turned out some of my maceman who were climbing the ladder just died.

Any troops currently climbing will instantly die if the ladder man dies or moves. Though only 3 troops types can actually climb ladders in stronghold HD and crusader.
