Wasn't expecting Artoria to be here because my crackpot Fire Emblem matchup for Artoria is Lucina. These are the connections I came up with: - They are both royalty to destroyed kingdoms (Lucina is the princess of Yllise and Artoria is King Arthur, King of Britain, with the title of King of Knights). - They are both born with dragon properties (Lucina has the blood of a dragon flowing within her veins due to her ancestor making a blood pact with the divine dragon Naga which is passed down to his descendants, mostly shown with the brand of the exalt. Artoria was born with the magical energy of a dragon because her father ordered Merlin to give her the “factor of the dragon” turning her into the holder of the Element of the Red Dragon). - They wield swords that have sealed power which needs to be awakened to unleash their full power (Lucina wields the sword Falchion which needs to be awakened with a ritual to unseal its sealing power. Her Falchion is only 4/5 unsealed because they had an incomplete ritual since one gemstone was lost in her timeline. Artoria’s Excalibur has 13 seals on it with each one having a condition to unseal it making Excalibur do more damage with each unsealed seal). - At one point in their story the pretended to be men (Lucina pretended to be Hero King Marth to disguise herself in the future. Artoria played the role of King and history records her as a male figure). - Thanks to a deity they time traveled to another point in time to stop the destruction of their kingdom (Lucina traveled to the past with her companions thanks to the blessing of the Divine Dragon Naga to stop the destruction of their kingdom in the future. While on her deathbed at the battle of Camlann, Artoria made a contract with the world in that she obtained the Holy Grail while she still lived making her into a counter guardian/living servant being summoned to different Holy Grail Wars. Her wish for the grail is to stop the destruction of Britain).

The great thing about FE is that any unit getting RNG blessed can just win, while anyone who gets RNG screwed is just dead. Obviously a death battle would have to take averages of stats and all, but the idea makes me chuckle

Very good list but I think Sigurd vs Jonathan Joestar is much more fitting for both

I can definitely see that. I agree that Sigurd is a better pairing for Jonathan than Seliph, at least, but I felt that the themes of Artoria and Sigurd just were too parallel to pass up.
