One thing they got wrong about Hiei's origin: his father wasn't a fire demon, it's just that his mother (an ice maiden) could give birth through immaculate conception, however, because she did sleep with a man to become pregnant (which is considered taboo to them) Hiei was born as a fire demon.

hiei is a very interesting character. he's not a emo but just a nihilist and realist. he says the reality of something bluntly and fully. he doesn't mince words. but on the flip side, he's loyal to a fault. if he agrees to work with someone, he will do so until the task is finished and he won't turn on you. also, the reason that he won't tell his sister who he is is because he doesn't want to disappoint her. he thinks yukina believes her brother to be this righteous and kind dude and feels that if she finds out that he's a murderous bastard, it would break her heart. and that's something he won't do. so while they have some similarities, sasuke and hiei couldn't be more different.

To be fair they did already mention Sasuke's Highest endurance was on the level of the moon Destruction feat of Naruto While Hiei was mentioned able to destroy earth in the showcase of their abilities. but both were hard to pick up as they were only a couple of sentences each at most.

I really don't agree with this one. Making a lot of assumptions about how Hiei's resistances would play with Sasuke's powers and then cherry picking one of Yusuke's feats as evidence of Hiei's power? Nah, sorry, not valid. All that said, YYH is an awesome anime and you guys should definitely check it out!

What assumptions did they make? He has fire resistances and was being attacked with fire. And didn't they cherry pick a yusuke feat, hiei has statements and feats backing his scaling. Hiei himself referred to Yusuke as an equal.

If anything, I would say they are understating Hiei's speed. The problem is that Hiei comes from a stronger verse. The high end of YYH is just higher than Naruto. Toguro was able to casually move an entire stage and his full power was killing Demons with his mere presence and he was only a B Rank Demon. And there is a huge difference between B and S Rank. Even S Rank has a huge gap between the lower end and higher end. And Hiei is on the higher end.

Yu Yu Hakusho is one of those universally loved classics that's worth watching even today. There's actually a lot of inspiration taken from Yu Yu Hakusho(and the creator's other work Hunter X Hunter) that are seen in Naruto.

If you do ever react to Yu Yu Hakusho then I highly suggest sticking to the English dub. The VA for Yusuke (main character) really flexes his acting range since he sounds like a total punk delinquent whereas the Japanese VA, as good as they are, sounds like your typical shonen protag to me. It's by far one of the best English dubs to have come out in the West.

To me Yu Yu Hakusho is one of those classic animes you have to see once like Cowboy Bepop or DBZ. Also, I don't know if you two know about it but there is this musical based off Homer's Odyssey that I believe you both would enjoy. It's called Epic the musical created by Jorge Rivera-Herrans. Some of his fans actually made animatics to represent the songs and I highly recommend it.

No, I think you guys didn't closely listen to Hiei's feats actually. Jagan's telekinesis & Dragon Of The Darkness Flame alone should've informed you guys that Rinnegan's gravity manipulation powers & Amaterasu have met their match. Next, The Jagan's mental protection would automatically guard against Sasuke's genjutsu. As for Ninjutsu, Hiei is a fire & ice demon with specific inherent immunity against elemental attacks. Sasuke's chakra nature is lightning & tanking lightning based attacks is a daily occurence for Hiei, a simple walk in the park. Kenjutsu, which is swordplay, you can see Hiei's a master swordsman himself too. And don't confuse Naruto & Sasuke's Yin & Yang releases & other chakra natures which were all gifted to them by Hagoromo, The Sage Of The Six Paths' chakra for Naruto & Sasuke through the Rinnegan. They're not their own signature chakra natures which is actually Wind for Naruto & Lightning for Sasuke as I said before. And you also forgot to take into account Hiei's rival Yusuke's lightning fast attack dodge which was the same feat that Naruto pulled against the lightning fast attack of Madara, which is another way of telling the viewers that both Hiei & Sasuke are equal to their rivals. Which brings us to the last decisive point which won the death battle for Hiei. Naruto taking the moon splitting beam to the face & the resulting energy released was just not as much or as vast as the energy that was released during Hiei's rival Yusuke's battle with the Demon King Yumi's. And they've already established Hiei to be equal to Yusuke & even faster than him. And one half of the resulting energy from that battle alone is a whole h£||a lot more than Naruto's moon feat, therefore halving the energy from the moon beam feat of Naruto to his rival Sasuke would be a lot lot less than Yusuke's feat for whom Hiei is a rival & an equal. So, just as the DB guys said, Hiei not only is more powerful than Sasuke, but he also has counters to every single thing that Sasuke has in his arsenal, just with a lot more power & amp.

Ranma versus Sakura Kasugano from Street Fighter--teenage martial artists who pick up techniques quickly and who need ridiculously specific conditions to use their ultimate moves, Ranma needing to be exposed to cats to use Cat Fu and Sakura needing a sunburn to enter Dark Sakura state Ryoga vs Ōkuni from Samurai Warriors--fighters who rely on their emotions to battle, and uh...the battle umbrella. Thats not the case with Naruto and Yu Yu Hakusho. Naruto and Sasuke has tag teamed like what... 5 gods so far? Madara and Kaguya in shippuden, and more in boruto. Also, Sasuke is able to effortlessly travel through dimensions now. The powerlevel between Sasuke and Hiei is just too great. Sasuke has taken on several demons himself, and even if the otsutsuki clan arent gods, their power level could be compared close to a god.

I don't know when this came out but adult sasuke has gotten so strong he's stated he could beat kaguya by himself in the light novels. This would put sasuke at a power of at least star level. Don't know if the light novels were out at this time or how far the boruto manga and anime was but I think sasuke at his strongest as an adult would win this fight.
