Pretty sure everyone had already picked up on this, but I believe this scene perfectly illustrates that Snape is the only one of Voldemort’s followers that he actually respects. Everyone else either follows him out of fear, or because they’re a bunch of racist bloodthirsty animals (sometimes literally like in the case of Fenrir Greyback :P). Snape however he see’s as a Kindred Spirit. An exceptionally gifted Half Blood wizard born to a Witch Mother, and an incompetent Muggle Father. Someone who shares his hatred of most everyone due to the mistreatment he suffered as a child.
@fatmah60974 жыл бұрын
But didn’t dumbledore tell him to pretend to be apart of Voldemort’s army
@RenaissanceM4 жыл бұрын
I love food Actually originally during the first Wizard War (or the second if you count the war against Grindelwald) Snape really was a loyal and respected follower of Voldemort as we see here. Snape however learned that Voldemort intended to kill Lily Potter and her entire family because of a prophecy claiming that her child would one day rise up and defeat him. Because of this Snape went to Dumbledore begging him to save her life, and swearing that he would do anything to help him if he did. Dumbledore used this to make Snape his own double agent.

Tom's wand style is very loose and flowing, which is probably the most advanced way to do magic. He barely grips the wand when he handles it. Lucius' wand is high class, but not good for nimble, quick magic what with the bottom-heavy handle. I imagine it being the difference between using a mace (Lucius' wand) versus using a sword.
@rezokiladze23343 жыл бұрын
@@ValseInstrumentalist Don't wanna be that guy here. But swords have the center of the mass near the grip while maces actually have it towards the end. So if Lucius' snake head wand was bottom heavy, it would flow much better. @@rezokiladze2334 True, true. I didn't really think about that. Although I do still think that, with something as small as a wand, the extra weight, whether top-heavy or bottom-heavy, would decrease its weildyness. 3:54 One little detail that I noticed is how Nagini was resting by the fire place the entire time until she followed Voldemort to the table. This is because snakes are cold blooded and therefore attracted to heat. In fact reptiles, and more commonly snakes, sunbathe (bask) in the mornings to retain as much body heat as possible throughout the day. Don’t know if this reference was on purpose, but if it was, kudos to the production team for hinting this.

But they are. Voldemort HERE is threatening, but in most scenes he appears, hilarity ensues!
@youtubeistryingtocensorme3 жыл бұрын
I think the problem with Voldemort from the start and the reason its hard to take him seriously is that is nemesis is a schoolboy, who he tried and failed to kill as a baby. See we’re constantly told that Voldemort is like a more genocidal Hitler/ Hannibal Lectar type villain. That he is so terrible that adults pee their pants at the very mention of his name. But then you take the fact that he got nearly killed by a baby and then actually killed by that same baby that its actually hilarious. Book or Film. If your an all powerful dark wizard and your nemesis is a fucken teenager just in school, its very hard to take a villain like that seriously. It kinda makes him seem pathetic. And not in a creepy child molester way either. See that would’ve made us take him more seriously
@theguyonthetv27603 жыл бұрын
@@youtubeistryingtocensorme I think that’s really what makes his character so endearing. He’s the man who’s gotten everything he’s ever wanted, and this stupid kid is an outlier. In scenes like the graveyard scene in GOF and the courtyard scene right before Harry comes back, we see the truly petty nature of his character, and I think that makes him not necessarily funny, but interestingly stupid. His ego and temperament is supposed to come off a little pathetic. It’s what makes him truly rounded out imo

I'd like to take a moment to compliment the actors in this scene. The death eaters at the table all react in just the right way to comments made by each other and the dark Lord, and everyone playing a prominent figure did a superb job of portraying the seriousness of the scene through subtle actions and sounds. Lucious' and Lord voldemorts actors in particular did an extraordinary job during the exchange where Lord voldemort takes the wand.
