Quite ironic (and perhaps symbolical) how the last song he played was Rose Clouds of Holocaust.
@junktube40006 жыл бұрын
What is the meaning of that song? I cant tell from the lyrics, but Wikipedia seemed to say it was about the ignorance of Holocaust deniers?
@themaninthemirror43636 жыл бұрын
junktube4000 I'm of the opinion that it's the other way around, actually. But idk, Douglas has confusing and conflicting views, maybe he's really a National Socialist but in a more poetic and romantic way, maybe he's just fascinated with Germanic and Nazi imagery and symbolism, or maybe he's criticizing them (which I personally find the least likely possibility really). I actually read once that Rose Clouds of Holocaust was just a sad love song, but it's lyrics are extremely ambiguous, but then again, this is Death in June, they were never very straightfoward on the meaning of their songs. Either way, judging by many other songs DiJ has released throughout the years since the 80's, I think they are really fascists but in a very, very different way you would expect a fascist to be.
@themaninthemirror43636 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you, above all else they are artists, if they are fascists or not it's irrelevant. I guess it depends on your interpretation of the lyrics and symbols... Nevertheless I still enjoy DiJ very much.
@junktube40006 жыл бұрын
Yea ones interpretation or reaction is definitely part of the art and its purpose. Him and Boyd Rice aren't cowards and know how to make art powerful.

I'm not one to believe Antifa on issues surrounding Fascists. But their article regarding DI6 does have some tochy subjects Douglas P has been asked about regarding National Socialism & the colonization of Australia (His current residence) www.whomakesthenazis.com/2013/09/queers-to-shut-down-death-in-june-in.html?m=1

I don't think he'd do a show somewhere where he could go to jail for his homosexuality. The Russian Federation is, after all, a state governed by the social primitivist principles of some of Dougie's fans.

One of my favourite bands of all time and also a band i will never see live. I think it's pretty shitty to your fans to Abruptly decide to make a random one off show in Israel your last. He should've ended with a final European or UK tour.

kinda really.. but fascinating somehow.. i cant quiet wrap my head around why.. i feel repulsed but also attracted.. songwriting is not exceptional at all, interpretation neither.. it´s like acoustic demos of someone whos been rejected by sarah records.. obviously.. but i guess i always had a soft spot for losers and outsiders.. but yeah he definitely sucks.. not good at all.. but i get why certain people involved with dark activities may like him..
