Anakin: "What must I do, Master Yoda?" Yoda: "Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose."
@randymarsh6931 Жыл бұрын
Anakin wasn’t searching for what he needed to hear, he was searching for what he wanted to hear. People make that mistake very often when they seek out advice. Yoda was going to tell the truth, and Anakin *needed* to be willing to accept the advice he was given. Instead, Anakin sought out untruthful advice that he *wanted* to hear from Palpatine.

@@andresmarinocardenas5604 True, Yoda wasn't aware of the whole picture sadly. But it was written on Anakins face. And definitely in his feelings. I'd think Yoda would be able to sense it, and maybe just see it as he did when Anakin was killing the tuskens lightyears away.
@andresmarinocardenas5604 Жыл бұрын
@@gyula47236 what Yoda started to understand is that the Prophecy may mistaken, after all he felt from Anakin. Maybe that is why he chose a harsh position instead of a condescendent one. He also said that pride is an evil that many Jedi suffer from, and therefore perhaps he was expecting not to endorce the attachment to love one with sympathy, but with the truth itself. Either way, I think what Master Windu did was far more insulting for Anakin to help his path to the dark side.

And this is one of the reasons why I’m not afraid to die. I have excepted a long time ago that death is a natural part of life. It’s the life we make before death that makes the difference. We must leave a legacy for people to remember us by
@DJ_Alex014 жыл бұрын
What about the lives of those you care for? As wise and Yoda is meant to seem and look like, he’s basically just telling Anakin to man up and to not care when Padme, someone Anakin deeply loves dies. Yoda’s words here are completely nonsense and frightening like we are not supposed to care when people die. Anakin has never feared his own death, but like a normal and compassionate human being, fears the deaths of those he loves.
@bullpuppy74554 жыл бұрын
@@DJ_Alex01 Uhmmmmmm, but wasn't Yoda 100% right? • Didn't Anakin fail to head Yoda's advice and brought about the very death that he earnestly sought to prevent? • Is it possible that Anakin didn't fear his own death because he was oozing power and had become filled with pride and arrogance, which was likely rooted in him being told that he was 'The Chosen One' all his life? • Could this is the very same pride and arrogance that led to his downfall? • Did Anakin fear the deaths of those he loved when he turned against them and began slaughtering them? • How about them youngling's? Is that something a normal and compassionate human being does? Yoda warned him about all of this because he was wise enough to know that people would try to exploit Anakin's fear of loss, which is precisely what Palpatine did. And if the shedding of the body is a univesral truth that we all must undergo, whether that means returning to a wholly peaceful state, or continuing on in some form of afterlife, why does it make sense that we should we mourn, rather than rejoice, the crossing over of our brothers and sisters?

The beautiful thing here is how right Yoda is, but at the stage Anakin is at, this just made it worse. If I've learned anything from Anakins fall, it's that no amount of sage advice can replace a well placed honest question or two.

@GrapeCheckerBoard10 ай бұрын
No, it’s Yoda telling Anakin to accept the inevitability of death. “Don’t mourn them, don’t miss them” doesn’t mean throw away your love for your them; it means that you shouldn’t poison your heart wanting them to come back. Yoda is advising against refusing to accept death.
@Daughtless3 жыл бұрын
Notice Yoda is not bathed in light, while Anakin has even less of it. This may be because the Jedi fear of attachments is part of what made them weaker than the sith here.
@guardiangibbs2663 Жыл бұрын
Attachment leads to jealousy is a cop out. Instead of learning to control your emotions you run from them. It would be like if the Jedi told their members to never use the force instead of learning to control it. Anakin was forced to bottle up and hide his feelings his whole life instead of learning to deal with them in a healthy way.
