Quick T'au tip. For units that have the "Markerlight keyword" which includes the the STrike Teams, giving them a Gundrone is strictly better than giving them a markerdrone. Also, the strike teams can have 2 drones. the guardian makes them suprisingly durable.

Depends, if you want them to guide after advancing (and they don't have assault weapons), markerdrone will allow them to guide when they otherwise would be unable to.

It's nice to see people not getting tabled in 3 turns, one of my favourite improvements of 10th. I think you need to get some piranhas or vespids, you don't have enough mobility for objectives with only infantry and big suits

I think regardless if Manticores are strength 10, they should only be shooting vehicles if theres no infantry left. All the tau infantry could have been swept away in the first couple turns and had nothing of any considerable oc to hold objectives.

Okay, after a quick reread of “coordinate to engage” the way I understand it is that it essentially gives a unit you select the ability to observe for itself. I don’t think it combines with anything to get +2 ballistics skill. (Again, I could be wrong or you could have used the wrong name. IDK.) I love your channel. Sorry it took me so long to drop a sub, but I’m doing it now.

I think you’re right. Plus «A Hit roll can never be modified by more than -1 or +1. » I think the stealth should have hit on 3 and not on 2. Am i wrong ?

@@joranprigent8686 I think so too as well. If it had heavy and was guided, it would still only be modified by one though, right? Because of that rule? That seems kind of annoying since that’s such a core part of the T’au army’s gameplay.

FtGG modifies the Ballistics Skill, not the Hit Roll. The Hit Roll can only be modified by +/-1 after all modifiers have been applied. The Ballistics Skill determines the target value you need to roll against and can be modified as much as you want following the normal modification rules, though it only has 1 source of improvement in the T'au index. Combined, you can improve BS by any number, and get up to +1 or -1 to Hit -- just remember that regardless of the final value, an unmodified Hit Roll of 1 always fails and an unmodified Hit Roll of 6 always succeeds.

I didn't catch that Strategic Reserves can come on your enemies board edge! Always played it as your own and the two neutral ones. Christ. This is huge vs gunline and parking lot armies. Not everyone is a screening mastermind. Mordian, a reserve unit or two would have been ace for the T'au.

Literally yesterday I did my first game of 10th edition which was 2000 points of Death Korps of Krieg and 2000 Imperial Knights vs 4000 points of Tau in a 2v1 game

We got first turn and The Tau player whiffed his 4++ and lost way too much stuff turn 1, then overwatched in his turn 1 killing a riptide and at that point he surrendered. (Only turn 1 but it took a long time because it was so big of a game and we were talking and hanging out at the same time and trying to learn the new rules. Everyone had fun though even the poor Tau player).

The T'au hooves. They're vegetarian. They are herbivores. They are closer to goats or cows than fish. It is only that they don't have noses, instead they have a breathing trench on their foreheads, that people think they're "fish" people. Also, for some reason the English names for T'au vehicles are aquatic-themed (Orca, Barracude, Piranha, etc.).

From my understanding you dont need a markerlight to observe. Marker drones only ignore cover in 10th edition from my understanding (i am a player getting back into the game after years of not play so correct me if im wrong)

How does the reinforcement stratagem work on sentinels? Can it always bring back just 1 sentinel? I've seen people suggest that one use of the stratagem could return a whole unit of three. Is that possible only if the three are in coherence or what's the rule here?

For some reason the Tau shooting has been diabolical in most battles I’ve watched. They’ve really been hit hard. I’ve played one game with them this edition, which was a draw vs Necrons. I brought the best possible list I could and killed A LOT of Necrons but struggled to get forward to get objectives.

It's obviously an oversight on GW's part. Having them Regen 1d3 a turn instead of 2d3 is a good compromise.
