Death Note - All Misa's Themes

I believe Misa's story is the saddest of all in the whole span of the series. She was madly in love with the only person that didn't actually like her, she was used time and again by him, she gave half of her already shortened life for that person but she still couldn't get him to love her. :(

She cut her life in half twice, however 2 Shinigami died for her, increasing her life span beyond what is normal. Yeah an her parents were murdered. However I disagree with you. Although Light was evil, I believe that he really did love her. He was just using her at first, but for the second half of the anime, I think that he truly fell for her.

Joaquin Pirotto I think this because Light told Misa that if she wrote down L's true name then he would love her forever. She couldn't remember it, so she did the eye deal with Ryuk. When Light found out about this, he said that she was an idiot for cutting her life, because he wants nothing more than to be with her in a new world. Also, before Light dies in the last episode he says: "Where's Misa...!?" "Where's Kiyomi...?" I think those 2 lines means that he misses Misa and loves her and that he regrets killing Kiyomi just to save himself. And it was really sadistic too. Light is evil, but he does have a lot of redeeming and good qualities, too. And I do think Light loved his father, too. He was hysterical in the last episode when he pretty much called his dad a fool, so I don't believe he meant what he said. That's my two cents. :)

SixLeafCloverOFire I agree on his dad, he was genuinly crying during his death, and especially after. Who's Kiyomi? If it's a character from the manga then it's beyond me, but in the anime it didn't seem like Light ever loved Misa. He was always saying stuff just to keep Misa in his pocket (and maybe even to keep up appearances).

Joaquin Pirotto Yeah, I'm just surprised that Light didn't try to stop his dad from making the eye deal. I think ultimately his dad would have said that he has made his decision and that he couldn't live with himself unless he did it. Kiyomi is the lady that Light dated in college and also was the spokesperson of Kira during the Near arc. She was the one that killed Mello by writing his name in the notebook after he kidnapped her. I had to look her name up too, because I had forgotten it.

Misa was a strong person to go through life as she did with a smile and her best attitude. She knew she was being used but loved Light regardless, even if he didn't return her feelings. She stayed strong, and that's why I respect her character. When I see comments saying that she is stupid and annoying, it makes me a bit sad. They just don't understand her. And she may not be as smart as Light or L but that doesn't mean she isn't smart at all (Besides L and Light are both geniuses anyways), so she is still of at the very LEAST average intelligence but she may be above as well.

I personally disagree with your statement. I feel that by her staying with Light even though she knew she was being used is a sign of emotional dependency, not strength. I am not trying to bash Misa, and I think her character adds greatly to Death Note. However, I don't feel she processes enough positive traits to be a respectable role model.

I was talking about how she watched her parents get murdered in front of her which is a pretty terrible thing to witness. What I'm saying is that she was able to still throw a smile on her face and keep moving despite her past. I do however agree with you on the fact that she is not the best role model based on her traits and actions. I still appreciate her character though. I didn't mean to sound disrespectful to you, I respect your opinion, I just wanted to clarify what I was talking about.

I feel very connected with this character. Yeah, Misa was the most happiest character in the anime, but the reality is that she was such a lonely and sad girl. The boy that she considered her true love, and her god, didn't love her in the entire anime. I hate when I see comments saying she's stupid or annoying.

Misa has got to be my favourite death note character. She always stays as cheerful as she can in a world of darkness. All she wants is for Light to love her back and she is ignored. She has a sad story and I do feel sorry for her, almost cried at the end when she kills herself. :(

Misa is a great character...yes we all felt "sad" or "mad" when a new character popped into the show, but she is a very " layered" character...and whoever thinks Misa is stupid is a total idiot...she is very intellingent but not at the same level as Light and Ryuzaki! She is smarter than most of us...not a genius but very very smart! Most of female characters who are very smart don't show it that good and they don't seem smart, but MISA is definetly not one of them...

I've always been a fan of Misa. Gothic ladies are my poison lol, but really, she provides a lot of cheerfulness and comedy to an otherwise gritty and dark anime. Her loyalty to Light also very sweet even though the guy is a grade A asshole. Can't help, but love her.

Misa is a character who represents an unconditional love, led to the almost sick. They are right, he is strong, because he could carry the weight of light. More should not be an example to follow, each one must question the love that encloses the actions of his confidant, or these in the end, could destroy everything.

Light didn't care about Misa even though she gave her everything to him. And misa,, didn't care about Rem. Rem died for her, but she never said anything about it.
