@@johnyboy228 Justice and Morality is subjective, that can easily be seen by comparing moral standards between different societies, groups or times periods within the same society/group. It even varies within individuals. Murder can be defined as the killing of innocent, but the perception of innocence is depending on ones perception of justice/morailty. Since justice is subjective it concludes that the definition of innocence is subjective and therefore in a moral context murder is subjective too(even tough in the context of the law what he does is seen as murder). In lights justice what he was doing was justified and there are many many people, who agree with him, the fact that you don't doesn't change that. Since in his eyes he is doing justice, it is understandable that ray and noami by trying to stop him commited injustice and were evil in his eyes and many that agree with light eventually see it the same way. Some Societies have the death penalty, live sentence(which is worse than the death penalty) or even worse punishemnts for different crime and therfore as said different views on justice and morality. What you would see as an injustice punishment in case of a death sentece aka murder, would in that society be seen as justice and vice versa, since within individuals morality/justice can vary too something that can be seen as injustice murder in ones percpective can be seen as justified killing in another percpective. The simple reason why not everyone is acting according to his own sense of justice/morality is simply because there are reprocussion, that they have no power to fight against, for not following the law which is based on a specific moralilty, that not everyone has not to necessatily agree with but act on. Light, just like everyone else, has his own sense off justice and with the Death Note he has the power to enforce what he thinks is justice, just as everyone else would, probably just as you would. And some would eventually even be more "bloodthirsty". Therfore in context of morality it is purely opinion based if he is a murderer or not, objectively no one can decide that including you. On the context of the law of his country you might be right on him being a murderer, but breaking the law is not necessarily evil. Since evil is also subjective. Therfore i say NO he is not a murderer and YES killing ray and naomi was fine. PERIOD.

Light was given the power, the power to control the world, to sentence people to death, to satisfy his own boredom, and he fell for this power. This show tells us that all of us have the potential to be Kira, and that the people who are publicly condemning Kira, if given the same power, would also do things that Kira did or stuff much worse. We just need to have a very, very strong sense of justice and morality to resist such tempting powers.

My little sister cried. I almost did. Naomi is so innocent and kind... At first I thought: LIGHT! SHE WILL EXPOSE YOU! C'MON DO SOMETHING BEFORE IT'S TO LATE!.. YES! GO LIGHT! And then I realized.. He killed a sweet woman, who just wanted justice for her killed husband. Naomi Misora.. I feel so bad for her. I just forgot it and forgave Light, and I still wanted him to win. Bad, isn't it? I saw the whole anime serie again, and didn't forgive him again. He killed her. And that's not the only bad thing about him. He used and killed Kiyomi Takada. He used Misa.. And the worst of all: He killed L! But how.. how do I still feel sorry for him too?

I feel bad for light. He killed his dad indirectly, his own girlfriend (takada) , used misa`s feelings for own interests, caused his friend death (L), caused a trauma in his sister, killed penber and naomi in a psicotic way, two inocents that was just working. He practically destroyed a lot of lifes, including his own, as of his family too. Then had a tragic final killed by Ryuk, with everyone against him.

And morality decides when someone is innocent or not and what good or evil is. And a murderer again is defined by killing someone, who is innocent. Since innocence is depending on morality and morality is subjective, it is also subjective when someone is innocent or a murderer. Light had his own sense of justice and morality and therefore in his eyes people that might seem innocent to us are guilty to him and deserved punishment. Everyone has his own sense of justice/morality. In some countries the death sentence exist. The death sentence is something that ruins lifes as well, right, but since the society has it's own sense of morality/justice, it was decided that ruining that life with the death sentence is justified, when that person does something that is seen as evil and makes that person as not innocent. So ruining someones life is not in all cases seen as wrong or evil, it depends of ones concept of morality/justice. The same can be applied to light. Light has his own sense of justice were certain actions are good and others evil and decides, if you are innocent or not. And he declares in his own sense of justice/morality that ray and naomi are evil for trying to stop him in his enforcement of what he things is right and therfore he in his own sense of morality is justified in ruining their lifes aka killing them, just as society does with what it things is evil and not innocent. Many other than light would have probably acted the same way, if they got that power if not even worse.
