It shows that to clear the world of evil, the person wanting to do so has to be absolutely pure otherwise they become the last remaining evil to exist, the world has to be a balance of good and bad. I admire light for his vision of the future and how despite his dark twisted side, at the end of the day all he wanted was the betterment of our world. Fire cannot be beaten with fire.

Poor rem dies for nothing... as misa kills herself when she found out light is dead... L dies knowing he lost to light... Light dies without completing his ambitious goal on making the world better... Mikami had a similar vision, kills himself after he and light was caught Ryuk no longer has entertainment... back to boring central as Light might be a rarity... Tragic story, Only person that got a happy ending here was Near

Light's is no.1 saddest because I was on his side from the beginning even though I didn't know it. I don't care how evil he was, HE WAS JUST A KID!!! dude, to bleed out alone, knowing no one was on your side, and no one cared about your death is sad. Also he was even delusional, to call for Misa and Takada even though they just talked about how Takada was dead, really shows that he was hurt to the point of his mind wasn't processing anything correctly.

The task force literally cared hence why they were running for him. Misa also cared hence why she unalived herself but Light didn’t care for anyone but himself. And Light was 22 by the end of the series I think.
