Kenneth Branagh hit the nail on the head with Thor. He captured the pulpy vibe of Jack Kirby's comics in the sixties while giving the characters a lot of nuance and depth (especially the main trio of Thor, Loki and Odin). It's a shame that he didn't get to make the sequels.

Not going to lie, Kenneth's make up artist did some amazing work cause I'm 34 and he was a major heart throb the whole movie. I kept getting side-tracked from the movie and majorlyjust starring at hime,uugghh such a distraction when im really wanting to focus...HORRIBLE cause I had to watch the movie again...bummer...oh wait a 3rd time is calling my name. 😆 Good job make up artists! Just spent the amazon prime streaming fee for this so will have my say. Knives out was brilliant,this is not,Christies novel and her poirot were loaded down almost from the off with the heavy baggage of 2020's race,gender and sexual orientation politics,there were none of the careful observations from the author around social conventions like dining,drinks and cigarettes,indeed,no one ate a morsel.on this pristine boat with no crew or captain,until a body needed moving.when not sleuthing,poirot had to take time to visibly affirm the lesbian couple (a dreadfully miscast French and saunders) had to take time to visibly affirm the mixed ethnicity love affair and listen and affirm the tales of racial prejudice and segregation from the blues and jazz singer who has sparked his desire and admiration. Added to all this was a ridiculous chase through the kitchen where no food was ever prepared and the murderer,as we already knew it was she,displayed the weapons and hiding skills of a ninja warrior. It was bilge water and I hope he returns to something brilliant and original like Belfast.
