I'm just jelly about the fact that he can play it but I can't remember the last time I played it has to be I do not know 5 years and counting and it has to do with the cramps in my left hand and my inability to see what I am doing and I would gladly trade my eyes for the release of the cramps in my left hand cause I don't have to see to play 😭😂

This is one of those songs that has a bassline so good it makes you feel bad for not being able to listen to it, even thought it really stands out. You did a killer cover and that bass is just beautiful. Totally looking forward to learn it.

I really don't think that chords are utilized as much as they should on bass in metal
@sehguhnai82235 жыл бұрын
They tend to muddy up the tone pretty quickly, and most metal bands tend to prefer pretty precise production, especially nowadays.
@sehguhnai82235 жыл бұрын
@Parker Hetzel Lemmy would agree. He had his bass cut entirely, and mids cranked all the way, I'm pretty sure. And Lemmy doesn't consider himself metal, either. Doesn't he prefer "hard rock"?
@mycustomyoutubechannel25395 жыл бұрын
rock 'n' roll as he calls it
@fireemblemistrash755 жыл бұрын
Parker Hetzel Ehh he turned down the bass on everything and turned up the mids and treble so it sounds like a super thick stringed guitar, but that man could play chords on a bass like no tomorrow. Plus when you get into genres of metal with harsher tone, louder guitars, and lower tunings, chords are not as important as playing in time, plus as a bassist, play chords all the time is kinda exhausting (at least for me because I have a heavy gauge 5strimg set on my bass, and it is needed)

Hi. Loved your cover! I was wondering if you could help me out a bit. How you do it for songs with weird tunings, everyone always warns mw about detuning can hurt the bass. And how do you achieve that awesome tone? I have exactly the same bass but struggle to make sound as good as yours. Thanks

@@csilval18 Hi man! Sorry for the late response. It's sometimes hard to keep up with all the comments one here. I also had the same problem starting out with such songs. First of all it often helps to put on thicker strings when you are tuning lower because then the tension of the neck doesn't change that much and you won't get problems with the action. You should try to let the strings rest a little bit so the neck can adjust itself to the new strings and then maybe adjust it a little bit with the truss rod. And yes, you shouldn't detune the bass too often if you especially don't want to change strings all the time and set it up new. I always kept this bass I used in the video at D standard tuning because I also needed it that way for my band and then used another bass for E standard stuff. BUT I think it also depends on the bass because I recently got a neck thru BTB which I just tried out detuning with the standard strings and now it works just fine for me without any different strings or changing the setup. In the end it's pretty difficult to give a right answer to this but I think best is to try to be aware of what you are using and get as many opinions as possible and find the right way for yourself. Soundwise I used a Tech21 FlyRig as a preamp and then recorded it via the direct output, but I really can't remember the settings I used ... I hope this can still be somehow helpful for you. Thanks for watching and your comment! :)
