@Angello! R. The problem with it being a stalemate is that in One Piece they have stated that any element stronger than the element a logia is using will overpower that logia user. Let's assume that Ace decided to stay in his physical form so Natsu couldn't eat fire, physically Natsu is ridiculously stronger than Ace and would either kill him or knock him out. If Ace decides to use his fire at all then Natsu can eat it and regain his stamina, where as in One Piece Ace would've had no way to keep replenishing his stamina during a fight. So no it would not end in a stalemate. Short term Natsu kills/incapacitates Ace due Ace slipping up or Ace not wanting to use his fire form, long term Natsu wins because of having more stamina than Ace.

Even with the power ace showed in his gaiden and our current knowledge of him having all three hakis, natsu can easily blow up huge mountain tops and melt entire lakes, both without breaking a sweat. Conqueror's haki wouldn't work on a shounen protagonist like Natsu and a logia user's armament haki likely can't come close to natsu's physical prowess. I'm a One Piece guy, but although Natsu isn't fast enough to eat Ace, he outclasses him in every way, from objective abilities to plot-driven ones.

Not only can Haki (Which is just the power of manifesting ones own will) hurt or kill Logia users, so can other logic users and any element that opposes that devil fruit. Water could hurt ace, lava can hurt ace, even enough dirt and rocks from the earth can hurt him or at least decrease his power. We could argue that Natsu couldn't actually eat Ace since he could use Observation haki to see it coming and avoid the attack without being eaten by switching back to solid form, but even that isn't enough to say Natsu won't win. It just proves that the limits of both of their abilities need to be reevaluated. Especially since Natsu could only successfully pull off Lightning Fire Dragon Slayer Magic under one of two situations, Wendy imbuing him with magic from all the dragons or by him consuming lightning in some form. We can make the argument, however, that plasma and lightning are the same but that's still not always true. You can create plasma without generating electrical charges. But I digress. Great video but the research needed to be more in depth.

Im surprised it doesn't come up that Natsu's attacks should be able to hurt Ace. One piece made it clear any fire hotter then ace's can hurt him. Natsu doesn't shoot and punch with fire, he does it with Dragon fire, which was specifically noted as being hotter and capable of burning anything.

To also be clear about the temperature of Natsu's fire, it is compared and scaled to Wall's Magic Confinement Fusion (Magnetic Confinement Fusion) which is up to 200 Million Degrees Celsius. That is already way hotter than Ace's fire.

One Piece made it clear that Logia's weakness is that anything cancelling the natural element can harm it's user. For example using water to quench Ace's flames or any fire hotter than himself such as Akainu's magma. Haki isn't neccessary to damage a Logia if you got the means to cancel their element or counter it. It's the same with every devil fruit, like Luffy is vulnerable to blades but immune to blunt.

Krillin is a side character in dbz, yet we know he is way more powerful than natsu. But we know that even the weakest characters in dbz have planet busting feats and statements. Do you wanna apply this logic in such match. Your logic will make no sence. Even if we assume krillin has enough screen time to improve, a can do the same thing with other characters - raditz is in 10 episodes max, yet even he is stronger than natsu. The same is with ace, whitebeard has much less screen time, yet we know ace can even scratch him. So the logic side character vs main character is heavily flawed. You are right that ace will just feed natsu, though.

This is straight fax. Ace flames are useless against Natsu. Natsu already has high level resistance to flames, he isnt completely immune to it, but he has resistance to flames. And if he infuses his flames with Haki, there's a good chance Natsu could eat them and gain flames with the property of Haki. He's done similar things before when eating esoteric flames. Even worse, it might send him into Dragon Force and make the gap in their speed and strength even greater. Natsu v. Ace is a slaughter at any point. Put in Sabo if you want a real fight, but even then...
