When I finally got down and did a major search of my new (single!) cell, I was examining the metal bed frame and noticed one of the support members looked odd. The cross pieces were made of what looked like rebar, I remember thinking they must make these in the prison metal shop. Anyway, this cross member has been carefully cut all around the perimeter, but leaving a strip of metal in place at each end. Beautiful work, the guy must have had a hacksaw or something close. If you were to grab it and pull, it would snap out and you'd have a 7" long piece of heavyweight rebar ready for sharpening, or good to go as is. It provided a certain sense of security to go so sleep knowing all I had to do was reach down and pull and I had a shank. My cell was tossed 3 or 4 times but they never noticed it and I left it for the next guy--but he'll have to find it like I did. Glad I never needed it.

I’m from England, UK and never been in trouble with the law. But being in prison sounds exhausting!! Lol. Our prisons are a joke, people have tv’s and games consoles.
