Recently got myself a 2006 NT 700 Deauville and love her already. Was scrolling through random videos on here and came across this one. As soon as I seen you're not that far from where I live I had to subscribe lol.

I have just returned from hospital. I have had a rectal prolapse. My giblets were hanging from my anus. The stench was appalling. Thankfully the surgeon has stuffed them back where they belong. I'm hoping to take my CBT next month. I'm 67 so a late starter to motorcycling.

Saw your videos on the build, very good job done. I’ve had the 650 but now have the NT700VA I drove one for a day when they came out and was smitten with it. Unfortunately they were out of my price range so I’ve had to wait till the second hand ones come down to my zone. I never have credit if I can’t afford to buy it then I don’t have it. I’m in my 60s and I guess my Dads outlook on that stuck. But I now have a wonderful example 07 reg. 20,000 miles, full belly pan, fender extender, givi 42litre backbox And rack and a custom seat and the leather tank cover thing, I’ve forgot the name of. I enjoyed my 650. If you experimented with the power band of it and got to understand it the exceleration was just fine. A good 60 to a gallon on a long run, not motorway but 60mph area. That engine is to me the midrange version of the Honda 90 Cub. And I say with praise not scorn. The 90 was bullet proof and so is this. I’m also of the opinion that there is no such thing as a boring bike but there are some boring riders. Example. You take an Honda 90 down country lanes with the throttle pinned and push it to its limits you will get off and kiss the ground. Lol you won’t be bored trust me. Lol 😆

I love my Deauville. 24 years young and still a great machine. I noticed that you have the wind deflectors on the fairing, do they make a difference? I'm looking forward to getting back on the road with her! I do have an issue with the panniers not locking or even staying shut. I've ended up having to add a pair of latches. I've been riding since the eighties and my Deauville has to be my favourite I have ever owned. The Dullville moniker is very unfair on my view. She does exactly what you want and has never let me down. Maybe it's time I gave her a name?? Love the channel.
@eadsierestorations
@eadsierestorations 2 жыл бұрын
Cheers Andrew, the panniers will shut and lock with correct adjustment, it's not an easy job but perciverance will pay off, I'm sure I've covered this subject on my Christine Restoration. Yes best all-rounder ever, anyone who calls them dullsville have never owned one. The hand guards are great, just don't get ripped off getting some.

Hi Adrian I have a 2004 650 deauville. Low mileage. Just recently I have had trouble engaging 3rd gear. You can sometimes feel your way into the gear change by gently and slowly moving your foot up until it's ready to engage but in can be the case that there doesn't seem to be anything there - just a kind of slackness. Anyway nothing appears to be loose on the gear lever and the bike has had a full service at the end of last year. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Hi I,m planning on getting back on two wheels and love the look and sound of the Deauville ,Question is ...Is there much difference between the 650 and the 700,have read that the 700 is a much better bike for touring? I used to ride from portsmouth to south of Ireland in my navy days,,TIA .regards Alan.

Having trouble finding neutral while stationery with engine running, but easy when engine turned off, any ideas
@eadsierestorations
@eadsierestorations 4 жыл бұрын
How often is it serviced? (Regular oil changes @4k) these bikes all suffer from the clunky neutral, it's a Honda thing so don't worry about it, a slight blip of the throttle helps find neutral. Try adjusting the clutch very slightly at the lever end and see if any different.
@TeezerDriz
@TeezerDriz 3 жыл бұрын
I had same issue on my 650, bike had 80,000miles or so. Clutch lever adjustment was within spec (10-20mm). Oil changes every 3000miles. I worked around the issue by nudging into neutral from 2nd as i was braking to a stop at lights etc.

I just bought a deauville 700 2006 i was worried about the mileage its 40k haha ive done 2k already for about 3 weeks. I thought i will have to service it like every year or so but i guess i have to change the oils more often. One thing i didnt get from the video, how do you change gears without clutch? Is it possible on the nt700? And isn't it better for the motorcycle to use the clutch always? Or maybe i can save some suffering of the clutch with this practice?
@eadsierestorations
@eadsierestorations Жыл бұрын
Hi yani with regular 4,000 mile oil changes these bikes are very capable of 250,000+ miles. So no worries there. As you change from 3-4th & 4-5th as you rev up to change gear simply dip the throttle and change gear. Only do this on the way up. It doesn't hurt the gearbox as the gears are syncro. You will get used to it in no time. It will give added life to the clutch. Don't jerk it, smoothly does it.

Hi I own a Deauville NT700VA it’s a 2007 model, when I got it, it had the aftermarket lower fairing on it. I won’t call it a belly pan because it covered much more than that but I took it off because I kept grounding when taking corners. I’ve looked for a belly pan type as I’ve seen some on photos that just cover the lower engine but unfortunately nowhere as it in stock. Does anyone have one for sale? The same also applies to the wind deflector kit you could buy but now can’t, that one uses sticky pads and also sits under the wing mirror bases. Anyone got a pair for sale? An air dryer would warm the adhesive pads enough to let go im sure. And lastly I’ve noticed that on my model a rubber flexible shroud fits at the base of the tank where the seat buts up against it and pops into an hole either side of the tank. Mine was missing, anyone got one for sale? I could get one from France for £16 new but I’m not even sure of it’s purpose as no air would blow through there anyway, So I will leave it at that and say a big hi to all Deauville owners, I’ve had both the 650 and now the 700

Hello, I am picking up a 98 model next week. How do I check if the fuel pump is working if the tank is not near reserve? Is there anything atypical i should be looking for that is unique to the Deauville (fault wise, I mean)?
@eadsierestorations
@eadsierestorations 5 жыл бұрын
Good choice sir, the fuel pump will 'Tick' every now and then if it's ok. The only other thing to check is the regulator rectifier (right side of the frame under the right side panel below the seat, un plug it and check the connector for signs of heat/melting. Fantastic bikes
