One of the best songs ever written, and he was about 20 years old at the time if I’m not mistaken. The chord changes are incredible.

It's been a while since I've been back on KZbin, Karl. I usually comment and like every post. Well, I'm back again and ready to get my "like" thumbs going cuz this is a HIT! Straight on point with all of the chords and progressions. You can always count on Karlismusic to get it right for ya! Masterful job! Karl, don't forget about Prince, too. I want to hear more of your interpretations of his catalog.

This is one of the best tutorials I’ve come across. I had the same reactions you did to some of the inventive moves El uses when I was trying to learn it on my own. Thank you!

Thanks for this video sir, and I really appreciate you giving me this material. I've always felt, except for dancing and choreography El DeBarge is just as talented as Michael Jackson. That's why Motown was pushing to polish him up - He came in the door ready, but unfourtunaly he had some personal set backs. I'm rooting for the brother;. It's never too late as long as you live.

Wonderful thing about KZbin is you can hit 0.75x or even 0.5x speed to slow it down in order to properly study🤷🏾♂️

Killed it again my brother.. When I want to know how to play something, this is the place. If I want to explore other areas of music I can look through more channels. But, what you do here in terms of teaching these classics is priceless.. You’re a great teacher and obviously a great talent.. Thanks from those of us who get it. Which is most of us..

just discovered your channel and subbed - 55 and teaching myself to play. I have the official All This Love sheet music, but cannot read it LOL
@leftofcenter411 ай бұрын
Yep cause bro you are confusing me a bit, some of the chords your calling out are inverted but you don’t say they are inverted as you are playing them… I am not that deep into piano theory but I can figure it out, it just would be easier to follow, if you mentioned what inversion of the chords are as your moving thru the song..
@karlismusik11 ай бұрын
Ok I really appreciate that input. Never opposed to growth and creative criticism and corrections. I’m gonna be starting a new batch a tutorials and I will make sure to include the song keys and which inversions I’m playing. Thanks 🙏🏾
@Naesman11678 ай бұрын
@@karlismusikI find that if I simply follow your shapes I’m good. The whole purpose of the visual lesson is so that rather than you just giving out the chords and chord structures (the videos are meant to be short, right?) we can see the inversions. In fact you don’t have to know about inversions unless you’re trying to learn about voicing (and this is not what’s happening here). The point is to learn a song. Voicing is another channel or topic.. Thanks again for your generosity. You’re totally appreciated my brother!!!!

You’re a good piano player but NOT a good piano teacher. As a piano teacher myself of over ten years, you rush through the music as if your students (learners) already know musicianship. My suggestion would be to slow down so that everyone (even those without piano knowledge) has a chance to grasp the notes and chords because you play too fast. Other than that, you did a great job capturing the melody of the music. Kudos.

He also doesn’t advertise this for beginners. I’m a beginner and I’ve learned more from him coming from bass guitar, than anyone who’s tried to explain it to me over the past 5 years. It also took me personally increasing my knowledge on harmony, scales, voicings etc. If the beginners don’t do ground work, this video simply isn’t for them because chords don’t teach touch, tone etc. (Coming from a a novice). Much love to everyone.
@daniel-19988 ай бұрын
I am a beginner and it’s fine. No messing about like some of you teachers do. I just slow it down to 0.5 and screen grab then practise. Welcome to 2024.

You might be a nice person but your delivery needs work. Your point was lost in the fact that you clearly don’t understand the medium or the contextual content of what’s happening on this channel. I don’t know if you were trying to be rude or cute but the beginning of your delivery wasn’t constructive at all… Like those before me this channel is not about beginning music lessons. As a music teacher you should know the difference.. You might also start your channel so you can show us how it’s done..
