Another Unitarian failure at 1:09:00 in. They did not put Jesus to death because He claimed to be "king of the Jews". They put Him to death because He is God; which is why the Jews picked up stones due to "blasphemy" (John 8:56-58). Claiming to be a literal "king" is not blasphemous to the Jews.

At the end, Solomon stated that as a Unitarian, his appreciation for Jesus grew, now that he thinks of Him as only a man, and not God, “as a man denying himself as we all have to do... he is more real to me.” Perhaps he does not realize his bias and personal preference in the desire to make God to be more like after his own image, so that He can become more relatable to himself. That is of course, the running theme throughout all false systems of belief, there is a necessity to attempt a diminishing of Jesus Christ’s divine nature and attributes. I deal mostly with Mormonism, and they have not stopped with the Son, but have gone after the Father as well, trying hard to make Him to be just an exalted man. BTW, Anthony you provide a rich source of biblical information on the Trinity that helps me with confronting the fallacies of Joseph Smith also. I just found out about your own channel and subbed. @@FromJosephtoJesus Seeing as I too, deal with followers of Joseph Smith, on a regular basis, I had thought that would strike a familiar chord with you, I'm glad to see it did. 🙌🙏† According to LDS, theology, and doctrine: God, men, and angels (whether fallen or unfallen) are all of the same genus, or species. Which is a death blow, to any theology-proper. We see this in the infamous Lorenzo Snow, couplet; "As man now is God once was, and as God now is man may become." (This is also why the Mormon Jesus, and Lucifer are considered brothers, it doesn't stop there though we too are the brothers of Jesus and Lucifer in this view.) This is simply ludicrous, as any Theology-proper worth it's salt, starts with God, then works outward down to man, realizing the obvious! Hence, in the simplest of terms: there is God, then everything else. Then we make further distinctions etc, this is all defaced in Mormonism. As an aside, l feel sad for Unitarians, anti-trinitarians, JW's, and other less than orthodox groups out there that go all out attempting to target the Trinity and Deity of Jesus Christ. I think it is great that David and Anthony and Sam and the others continue to present the truth of the Gospel of Christ and as they do so l believe it will continue to lead to seeds planted and the truth prevailing. Again Anthony Rogers is fast becoming THE most authoritative and essential voice and expounder of the Trinity in Apologetics today. I cannot name any one else that l would rather have in that role. However, I acknowledge that the Christian Apologetics community has many folks that can fill that role quite nicely.

According to the 14th chapter of Genesis, verse. 1 God (Translation of the O'=70) or Yahweh (Masoretic. - יְהוָה֙) appeared to Abraham "despite the oak Mambri". And when Abraham lifted up his eyes, he saw THREE men. Surprisingly again and by divine apparent impulse, in the verse. 3, addresses them in the singular by ‘Lord’ (Adonai - אֲדֹנָ֗י), while in the immediately following verses. 4 and 5 speak to them in the plural (‘you washed your feet’, ‘you rested’, ‘you supported your heart’, ‘you want to pass’, ‘you passed’). It is also worth noting that, while in the verse. 3 Abraham presents himself as a slave of ONE (‘your servant’ - Heb. עַבְדֶּֽךָ ebedka), in verse. 5 presents himself as a slave of THREE (‘your slave’ - Heb. עַבְדְּכֶ֑ם ebedkim). The three speak at the same time and say the same things, as if by word of mouth, which reveals the absolute unity of Energy and Will among the high visitors of Abraham. This unity is the existential (ontological) expression of the absolute love, of the love society that connects these three persons. And in the verse. 5 the text normally writes ‘είπον’ (Heb. וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ - way · yō · mə · rū), in the plural, that is, as three that were, in the verses. 10,13,15,17,20 writes paradoxically ‘said’ (Heb. וַיֹּ֗אמֶר - way · yō · mer), in the singular that is, as if it were ONE. The three persons who appeared to Abraham and from whom two later appeared to Lot are called "angels" as they are also called "men" (Gen. 1: 2; IX: 5,8,10, 12:16), but they are neither men nor angels. Yahweh, after his appearance to Abraham, would go down to the sinful cities, to see for himself and to ‘see for himself’ (‘I want to descend’) and to ascertain their moral condition. But despite Yahweh's statement about his personal descent to Sodom, the text says that Abraham continued to stand before Yahweh and converse with Him as intercessors for the salvation of Sodom! After that Yahweh left (verse 33). In Sodom, at 19: 1, of the three men, only two went to Sodom, who are also called angels, in the verse. 13 appear as messengers of Yahweh. This begs the question: Did not Yahweh come down to Sodom personally and visibly, as he said to Abraham? The answer is yes. Indeed, Yahweh descended to Sodom personally and visibly in the face of the two angelic men. The two in faces, in essence, are ONE AND THIS YAHWEH! Lot in the verse. 2 addresses the two men normally in the plural for ‘Lords’, then in the verse. 18 paradoxically and by divine impulse he addresses them in the singular through ‘Lord’. Lot addressed in plural "them", that is, not to one, but to the two men, as was natural. And the fact that Lot addressed plural "them" through the singular "Lord" becomes indisputable by the phrases "your servant", "before you", "your mercy", "you did". More and more this becomes indisputable from the verse. 21, which corresponds to the verse. 18.

Worship me.' It doesn't say those exact words so He's not." Can we not form a logical conclusion from the text as Anthony does? Jesus is shown as divine. The Angel of the Lord is shown as divine. Jesus is not the Father or the Spirit. The Angel of the Lord is not the Father or the Spirit. Therefore, Jesus is the Angel of the Lord. Q.E.D.

@TessC374 I was once in your place, so I understand your confusion. As a new Christian, I would charge you to learn what the voice of God sounds like. How this came about for me is listening for the ideas of law and gospel. Law in this sense means everything we do or are commanded to do by God and gospel is everything that God does or has done for us. A true preacher will never downplay Gods commandments, will preach them in a way that exposes true sins and not place a burden on your conscience that is not clearly communicated in Scripture; in addition you will hear the gospel preached to comfort you from any guilt you feel based on the law to remind you that Christ has set you free from His wrath. Any other message is suspect. Jesus said that "repentance and forgiveness of sins " will be preached in His name.

@@Thedisciplemike Ok how about the first 18 verses of John Chapter 1? “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” John 1:1-18 KJV I don’t understand how you can read the first 18 verses- especially verses 10-11 & 14- altogether and still think the Word isn’t a title? “The Word” isn’t referring to God’s message in this passage, we can tell the Word is being used as a title in John 1 because John calls the Word “he” in verses 3, 10-11, and “his” in verse 14. Do messages have personal pronouns? We only apply personal pronouns to a person, an individual entity who has personhood. If that wasn’t John’s intention, why would John call God’s message a “he”? Why would the Word “be made flesh, and dwelt among us”? If the Word isn’t a person but instead a message, why not say instead “be written down, and was given to us”? Why use language that would suggest a person is doing something when you are not referencing a person? Also why would John open his gospel this way when giving an account about Jesus? Does God not realize what this would imply about Jesus? Isn’t the Bible the inspired word/message of God? (By the way, We do not give our bibles any personal pronouns, or speak about our bibles committing actions as if books were people. Yet the Bible is God’s word, is it not?) Or can God allow/make mistakes when it comes to the Bible? If so this would be a very drastic mistake to allow, considering the consequences that this “mistake” has caused. But I don’t believe this is a mistake. That would be contradictory to God’s perfect nature, which would throw everything about God into question. I believe God has made it very clear: in John 1 “the Word” is a title for Jesus Christ, who was with God and is God, who is eternal.

@@TessC374 I would recommend that you read the Old Testament book of Esther. Purim means "lot" (lot as in, to cast lots). Purim got its name because Haman, the enemy of the Jews, cast lots to choose which day his genocide of the Jews would be done on. His plot was found out and it turned out that instead the Jews were given time to avenge themselves on their enemies (even though they were a subjected nation at the time.) Thus, in Esther 9:26 "Therefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur."

Anthony can you explian in the next video why denying the doctorian of trinity is damning?
@LucisMMV3 жыл бұрын
Any denial of the trinity is an attack on Jesus' divinity. It's through Jesus' divinity, His death, and His resurrection that we are provided atonement. (Like Anthony said, in Psalm 49:7-8 (NASB) "No man can by any means redeem his brother Or give to God a ransom for him- For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever-") If we deny the divinity of our savior... where then is the hope of our salvation? In Romans 10:9-11 (NASB) it says, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” If we don't believe Jesus is God, how can we "confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord?"

This makes me think of Muslims asking "where did Jesus say I am God worship me" 🤔 I seriously don't get what the other is arguing. He's just denying there is evidence and saying that he has looked at the scripture deeper. 🤔 But in fact he couldn't point to good refuting arguments.

@O C There are of course plenty of passages that pronounce, and extrapolate this truth. The problem lies with the questioner, as he wants a particular, laid out with the exact word order, and phraseology he has in mind. What this does is highlight the problem, that to whomever phrases the question this way, the Scriptures simply aren't sufficient in their view, nor there highest authority, they are.

This Solomon says he has to see the words say Jesus is the Angel of the LORD, very much like a Muslim demands to see the explicit words "I am God" from Jesus. Yet he says he believes the Holy Spirit is the Angel of the Lord because why exactly? Those don't appear in the text either and certainly not to the level of Jesus' identification as said Angel

Mr. Solomon never actually gets to the actual point of contention. He also sets up a false test in saying "We have to have a 'Thus saith the LORD' to show that Jesus is the Angel of the LORD." And what he calls, "speculation" on the part of Anthony is actually a FOUNDATIONAL EXPERTISE in the Old Testament. "When you see the REAL 20 Dollar Bill?!" Two people reading the same verses and getting totally different interpretations. Antony said "No Jew would have wondered what he meant by the angel of the covenant. Would that Jew believe that the Angel of the Lord was Jesus? I don't think so. The thing that amazes me most is that when Jesus started his ministry Jews, who I'm sure understood the scriptures far better than any of us, interpreted scripture by pulling out words and contextual concepts to use against Jesus and Jesus showed them to be false teachers. They could not understand Jesus interpretations. We think we are so smart as we can look back with hindsight with Paul's writings to guide us. But I think this debate is no different to the Jews of Jesus time. I'm right you're wrong. When Adam sinned God made a covenant to give His son to redeem man. The question for me is if the son was the angel of the Lord does that not make a mockery of that covenant?

When you quote from the bible its the Gospel. Thats it. So for him to quote Galatians 1:8 about teaching the wrong gospel, whats he trying to say? That when you quote something that doesn't fit his idea of God its wrong? You can't pick and choose which verses. So for him to quote literally about teaching the wrong Gospel then denying what is directly quoted from it is extremely hypocritical. If we quote something like John 10:34 and Jesus is saying he wrote the law, that means he wrote it. "I said". They even accused him of making himself God in the same chapter. Even the Jews knew what Jesus was saying, its why they accused him of calling himself God John 10:33

Solomon suggests the "Angel of His presence" in Isaiah 63:9 is the Holy Spirit, which is utterly nonsensical when in the same verse it says "in all their affliction He was afflicted" So he's literally suggesting that The Holy Spirit is the one that was afflicted for our sake when it's glaringly obvious and demonstrable that it's referring to Christ specifically and not the Spirit. The mental gymnastics unitarians have to do in order to totally misconstrue passages is really quite something to behold.
