It reminds me of the small town I grew up in where there was only one Mexican restaurant. The food sucked, but if you were craving Mexican it was the only place you could go.

I think too many people have an expectation of perfection. A lot of people complain about Madden and all the things it “doesn’t” do, but they ignore everything it does do. Ultimately I think you hit the nail on the coffin, people just like to complain.

I can't stand this game after 2017. Madden 2004 - Madden 2017 was a positive for me because I played the game by myself and I had so much fun. Didn't need anybody else but I can't play the game unless my friends play with me now. I loved Madden back then, but now I've seen how they've gotten lazy and inconsistent with the game overall, how many features got taken in and out, how trash their rating system is, and how the opinions of players doesn't hold the weight that it should, and most importantly how abilities got put into a game like it's a freaking rpg. If I didn't have friends who played this game I would quit forever. I love the game of football and my dream was to play it on a gaming system. My dream got shredded. So in conclusion- I hate what the game is now but Madden gave me many great memories. Also a good game to me is a game I can play by myself for hours without others. I CAN'T PLAY THIS GAME BY MYSELF LOL

To be honest. I've ran the same exact scheme since madden 16 and had a 90% win rate online. And I finally stopped playing it this year and went to college football and I've had more fun playing dynasty by myself than online

With the licensing situation it is what it is, but yeah, we need there to be competition again. I don't think people would complain nearly as much if they had options.

Exactly, sports games is the genre where you're not allowed to have competition. If you want to play a FPS, but you think COD sucks there are still other games like: Valorant, Apex, Overwatch 2, etc. So, what motivation does EA or 2K have to put out a great game when they know people will have to keep buying from them every year.

Old Madden was the best like 06-08, seems developers put a lot of time into animations. I'm constantly holding down the A button to skip cut scenes.

I like Madden. Madden got me into gaming heavy years ago when younger with the PS1. It’s always been a net positive but with NCAA this year I didn’t get Madden and I haven’t regretted that at all

Can't lie. I wish the beef had happened this year, but idk the hot head seamed like he killed the drive for it this year. It's OK to be upset. Everyone does it, but when it kills the vibe, then I think it's best to move on to the next project.

I mostly just play franchise now for Madden, me being overseas and the latency potentially screwing me over isn't worth going h2h. However franchise has been improving over the years and I feel is making a potential comeback as a main staple.

Madden isn’t good hence why I sold my coins and quit. Too many bugs that take them too long to fix yet they can find a new way to make money or a coin glitch comes out and they’ll fix it same hour.

Event though soccer is my favorite sport and I only watch a NFL game like 3 times every year (because my team the Jets always sucks), Madden is still my favorite sports videogame. Because it has a slower pace and it gives time for you to adjust, it feels like a chill gaming experience despite all shenanigans Btw I prefer regs to MUT so that might explain some things

In terms of the 2k community I would definitely say it’s a human thing. They NEVER know what they want. When the game implements what they ask for they get upset things are different. 2k also drops the ball at times with gameplay. Madden this year hasn’t been fun to me but I think it’s more so because NCAA gameplay is more my speed

Always been terrible at shooters but been decent at 2K and Madden. I’m glad they do exist, don’t know what I’d play without em

I can't front, I only got into Madden because of MUT. Problem is how the mode has shifted since Madden 25 (2014). Microtransactions completely rule the mode now and I've always been no money spent, so they essentially priced me out a few years back. Sidenote: Last year I got Madden through gamepass and it annoyed me that their solution to pricing people out is to give them identical cards that you can change team chemistries on to make a viable theme team (despite that player never actually playing for that team). I don't know how long they've been doing this, but I'd prefer a pack or two for my solos/levels like back in the Journey/Gauntlet days.

Madden is just fine. People want it to be like real life, and there’s no way to do that. It’s tech, just like anything in tech, there’s good things, and there’s bad things. I LOVE Apple products, I can give you a list of things I don’t like about it though.

I can understand what you are saying about the negative specifically the ones who are like "its the same game every year." if you think like that then you arent a fan of sports games because realistically how much different can it be? so i dont agree with every negative thing people say but i just cant defend ea sports with everything they have done you know better than me but to me one of lifes greatest mysteries is how ea sports can be as incompetent as they are and still be a billion dollar industy. One example ill leave you with is patches whenever something needs patched in the game they never fix it properly they will basically use duct tape to fix a problem instead of taking the time to fix it properly.

@@Sinnceree1 Thats one of their major problems in my opinion is that they will put in a few new features in an effort to cater to more casuals i wished that they wouldnt add any new features and instead focus on improving the fundemental gameplay which has legacy issues that some of them are still not fixed. Of course they wont do that though but i think if they were to do that it would be better longterm for the franchise but what do i know. Yeah college has a different tinge to it but i think its all smoke and mirrors on why its different nothing fundementaly is really different about it

It’s ah monopoly type of thing. Neither 2k or Madden has a top competitor if any at all and that allows for them to do whatever cause they know it’s nothing else out there for us to turn to. Our best 2ks came when they were making NBA live games and greatest madden came when ncaa dropped its best college game. It’s hard for a new game to pop when they don’t have the funds nor the licensing to make the game good.

I only like playing MUT and love the team building but hate paying money and I'm a casual so it's just not fun anymore to get destroyed by someone cashing out when I'm not that nice anyways. I haven't bought in years...same with 2k. 2K was also fun when you could make your myplayer good without dropping $300. Miss me with that bs. If you don't spend money, it just aint fun I love living vicariously through youtube tho, but literally hate playing both

Madden is not a great representation of the NFL. The NFL is literally franchise mode, yet It’s the least touched mode. MUT is basically paying for the best players to get the best animations and win. The constant glitches, hiccups, visual errors are always in the game every year. And then online play is just finding the best cheese plays to run. There’s no skill gap anymore. It just fills the need of a football game. I think more people are critical of the game because of where it once was and not just hating. I just bought Madden 25 for 50% off. Already, replays are laggy and hitch a lot. Formations are glitched out depending on the ball spot. Tackles are broken super often. Player models are unfinished/polished. EA makes too much money to have a bad product every year.

Disclaimer I have about 20 hours on this current Madden but 1000s on previous years. So maybe some of this stuff is better but I haven’t played and haven’t missed it. (Shoutout CFB25) This year was bad for me. Some of the hitstick animations are BAD imo. You can at times see the offensive players stop for a half second and wait for the game to tell them if it’s a tackle, fumble, break tackle, etc. The other thing was CFM literally got one thing changed and they were broken. Storylines are a great idea but they made them time consuming and unrewarding. And those are two of the biggest things EA added all year.

I would say that Madden is a net positive, BUT Madden has been on a steady decline with their product for the last like 10 years. I think within the 10 years we've had some good Madden's, but overall the product has just gotten worse. U can attribute that to things like the lack of competition in the football game space, micro transactions, the community getting sweatier, or just the general direction EA has decided to go with their games. I still love Madden, but I can objective enough to say imo Madden is a shell of its former self (Might also be saying this because I hate this year's game). I wouldn't change madden for anything though because even with all of the issues I couldn't imagine Madden and just the Madden community not existing.

I’m going to try not to type a paragraph but this isn’t just an issue with Madden. A one year game cycle usually leads to cut corners in development which leads to more problems for players. And hating Madden/2K (but not enough to stop playing it) is what’s popular nowadays. I grew up with Madden but I don’t buy it nowadays unless it’s on sale and i can mod it on PC. But the majority of the people who buy Madden don’t watch it on KZbin, they just buy the new Madden every year because like you said it’s a cultural thing

Madden used to be a revolutionary game that constantly made leaps in evolution. But as of the past decade the evolution of the game year over year has been too slow for people. Like CFM was outdated and stale for years, and the community was begging for changes to it and instead EA added other functions that no one wanted like longshot. I think people dont hate the game as much as they hate the developer that clearly doesnt listen to its community and only tries to get the communities money. When games like Elden ring come out and developers address problems immediately, and patch it and stick with it. Verses EA drops the same incomplete game every year and doesnt give it attention outside of MUT after the first 3 months. They reskin it, do a roster update and sell it again for $60. Like honestly if 2K and EA were honest and made a new game every 2 years and sold a DLC for the updated rosters people would respond better.

Honestly Madden has its flaws, but I’ve honestly enjoyed every year of Madden since I began playing it. I know it’ll get better, but I have a good time playing Madden. As for the games I’m playing right now, I’d have to say COD has hooked. Just been working trying to get better at the game, wouldn’t mind running with or against y’all at some point.

it’s an meta game people don’t just play the game as it’s supposed to there always a scheme or a cheesy play so it makes it seem like you’re playing the same guy over and over again just not fun nor enjoyable there’s no way someone is playing this game for more then an hour or two college is better and just adds something that madden doesn’t have idk what it is but college mut is easier funnier. online is different every game what’s annoying too is that you have to go to KZbin to stop a madden cheesy play on college you can stop it after the 2nd time

Madden is good game generationally since it comes out every year and continues to have one of the biggest fanbases play it every single year. Ofc there has been issues with it such as it becoming heavy p2w on certain online modes and some formations being better than others, but we can't take away from the fact that just sitting there playing with friends on the couch as a pickup game is easily one of the funniest and fun game to play. So yes it's a good game when it comes to offline play and modes like Franchise, H2H and a little bit of the yard.

All Madden is a GOOD FOOTBALL GAME but when people complain about every little or big flaw they find then of course the developers are gonna try to add more stuff to spice it up for the complainers. LOL a madden game is as good a football game you’re gonna get if you want to play like the NFL. If you want just straight fun, do play now and put it on rookie😂 or just play a different game. CFB 25 and Madden 25 is both football, both have ups and downs. If you want a game specific to your needs then pay someone to make a game specifically for you. EA not gonna care as long as everyone still buying😭
