There is a real case for Neymar > Dinho but Fayz and Haseeb kinda fumbled Neymar finished 11th in the Ballon d’Or rankings while still playing in Brazil. Neymar was right behind Messi and Cristiano twice, which Dinho wouldn’t, not even close. Neymar is Brazil’s all time top scorer. Not Pelé, R9, Romario… Neymar is. He also won a treble in which he was tied with Messi and Ronaldo as UCL Top scorer. People also mention Dinho changing Barca, which as a Barca fan, I can attest that it’s completely true. HOWEVER, he was not our best player year in year out either, particularly after his BO, and in the end he wasn’t good enough to play for us by the age of 28 when Pep came in. Dinho’s record in big games is also a bit smelly. As Fayz said, aside from the England FK, he doesn’t have a single memorable WC performance, and his UCL final in 06 was horrible (keep in mind he had won the Ballon d’Or 8 months earlier). That game was won by 2 Barca players, Eto’o and Larsson, with Almunia giving us much needed help too. I love Dinho, ofc I do, but he actually does have this untouchable status which is not totally warranted.

I think a Neymar vs Dinho debate is fair but I do disagree with a lot of what you said. First of all why wouldn't Dinho be able to finish 3rd behind Messi and Ronaldo? There's nothing about his prime seasons that would make us think otherwise. I'm a Barca fan as well and he was definitely our best player from the time he signed till 07. He wasn't amazing in the CL final but he has a lot of really memorable CL KO games, when he was at his best he definitely turned up for the big games. Let's address the WC real quick as well, I have no idea what Fayz was saying cause the dude created the first goal in the final of the WC? He sauced the guy defending him and then assisted Ronaldo to break the 0-0 tie? I would never down Neymar cause that dude is one of my favorite players ever but the biggest difference between him and Dinho is physicality. At his peak Dinho had the physicality to just shove defenders aside and he was durable enough to take hits. They were both all time players but that little difference definitely had a big impact.

Neymar’s stats for a LW are absolutely outrageous, and Dinho wouldn’t be able to put up these numbers. This is my first podcast i've watched from u guys, and straight off the jump, I can already tell that the brother in the white shirt (dk his name yet) has abysmal ball knowledge lmao Defensively, he is easily one of the best. His spatial awareness and defensive positioning are out of this world. No one matches him. And people seem to forget that he was a destroyer too. It's not like opposition players were able to go passed him with ease. His long legs covered a freakish amount of space. That + his positioning + his impeccable timing made him practically impenetrable and an elite ball-winner. Although he isn't the best DM defensively wise, he is certainly one of the best. On the ball he is one of the most elegant ever. His disguises are a joke. The way he could effortlessly guide thru midfields without even breaking into a full sprint is unheard of. No other player is capable of doing that but Busi You guys need to understand that importance of the pivot role in possession-based football. The pivot is the centerpiece of the squad and without a disciplined, well positioned pivot like busi, the symmetry of the team is off, and the team won't be able to to circulate possession as easily. He was the most important player for Barca in recent years, bar messi. Busquets was the anchor to 2 treble winning sides and a spain side that won a world cup and a euro (was not on the 2008-euro squad cuz he was still a youth player). Busquets is without a shadow of a doubt the best DM to ever play. I would go as far as to say that he is the best midfielder ever (hot take but if u rlly deep it its not that crazy to say).

Modric did not have the numbers but was more consistent in 2018 just like Messi or Salah than Ronaldo. You can check the individual achievements excluding the Ballon D'Or to fact check this. Ronaldo's only "award" was UCL top scorer. Messi won Golden Boot and best player in La Liga, Modric won UEFA player of the season and WC golden ball. Messi had the better numbers. Salah was PL player of the season and top scorer breaking the all time PL record.

Picking Rodri over Busquets just shows the focus my man puts on Prem. Prem is a very atracking league, so, the people who only watch Prem and no other league and not much europe, don't understand what role which position plays. If your holding DM need to shoot, you front five has failed. They give a lot of emphasis on ball playing defenders rather than gritty defenders too. The simplest argument against that Rodri is complete logic is that Messi and Ronaldo rarely defend, so, they are not complete forwards! Your DM don't need to shoot, that is why it is the holding DM and not forward run making DM. But, because Prem is the more attacking league, the only Prem watchers think that your DM should be shooting. The most complete DM is the one who can change the pace of the game without even crossing the central circle and Busquests did it the best. Forwards are not incomplete forwards if they can't defend, a DM is not an incomplete DM if they can't shoot. If your DM can shoot, it makes it extra, not complete, and considering that your DM is out there, near the opponents box trying to shoot automatically disqualifies him as a complete DM at the first place.

Overall great podcast. Question and motions were enjoyable and the 'fun' aspect in the whole thing is very visible and present. Sorry to say; the guy in the white sweater didn't have one great point or any added value. The rest of you were actually quite good in terms of how the debates were. Polo guy was actually not bad in terms of what he was saying.. However, there is certain way of saying things in podcasts to keep it easy for the listeners to follow. He almost ruined the whole thing by constant screaming. There is visible potential in this whole thing!
