Idk why is everyone acting like Klopp leaving means everyone is leaving? This is still Liverpool if we assume that Xabi Alonso is coming with a new sporting director and fresh new signings in the summer this team will still be one of the favourites in the Premier League and in the Champions League as well, Virgil became the captain so I'm sure he'll be open to the idea of retiring in Liverpool or at least staying for few more years, Trent is only 25 yo and he's the future captain in his boyhood club and Liveprool will do everything to renew him so he's staying and Salah reportedly (David Ornstein) wants to play at the highest level for few more seasons so unless Saudi offers mind-blowing money he's staying as well, Alisson's contract expires in 2027 so he's going nowhere, Liverpool is set for the future imo everything depends on the new coach and the new structure of the team

The SAF and Arsene Wenger comparison is an interesting one for a couple of reasons. Firstly, and most obviously, Klopp is far more animated and physically exerting himself watching the games than either of them. In the era SAF & Wenger managed, you would probably say, with safety, that 80+ points would get you a title more often than not. Klopp is having to put up 90+ points and still missing out on the titles to City. That must put so much more strain on you. The managers in previous eras of footy would lose a game and be still confident in their chances of a title (look at how Souness speaks, particularly about us into December last year where we hadn't dropped off but were keeping the pace). Now, a single loss in the second half of the season might be 3 points dropped too many. That's so much more pressure to work with.

@_newmantube_ Nobody would compare Pep to Klopp it would be a much easier transition than bringing Alonso in. If Pep failed then either see if Klopp wanted a return after his rest or at least see whether Alonso was a one season wonder or not. If Alonso flopped at Liverpool he could end up heading to Saudi like Gerrard. Too risky for both sides.

Think they need a fall guy before Alonso comes in. It’s almost inevitable they’ll be a drop off of some kind after Klopp and Alonso won’t want to be that guy. Liverpool fans won’t want that either. So some random Serie A manager kind of feels like the right fit for that. You don’t want a bulldozer like Tuchel or Conte but someone slightly underwhelming like Moyes or Emery feels like the right move. Then Alonso can back in and rebuild.

@laurencemckenna10 ай бұрын
Which opinion in this made you say that?
@CiaranKavanaghCK10 ай бұрын
@@laurencemckenna off the top of my head, you spoke about Salah not scoring "incredible goals" anymore when talking about Liverpool missing him and that he's scoring different goals now so someone else can come in instead and train them up. What does that have to do with Zac's point of you're losing a guaranteed 25+ goals a season if Salah leaves? Obviously you're going to miss that. As well as that, the point still stands that yes, Liverpool will absolute miss Salah when he leaves because you cannot simply replace a 25 goal a season person. But sure it doesn't matter according to you because he doesn't score incredible goals anymore and may not fit in the new system haha
@laurencemckenna10 ай бұрын
@@CiaranKavanaghCKthat wasn’t my point though mate. The point was that we used to look for salah to make moments and score big goals. His volume of goals is good but when he leaves we will find out how much is him and how much the system facilitated that. It’s not a knock on him. He is amazing. Saying that the team can find other solutions doesn’t mean that Salah is bad. He asked if we would miss Salah and I answered that from a team perspective. I don’t know if that makes sense to you in the way it does to me but 25 goals doesn’t have to be replaced by 25 goals from another player or a signing. Emphasis shifts.
@CiaranKavanaghCK10 ай бұрын
@@laurencemckenna but clearly it's not system? No one else in the Liverpool squad is putting up close to those numbers. So it isn't a system thing. Yes systems are put in place, players play to said systems and whatever. But the elite players, like Salah, are the ones that no matter the system, position, job, instructions etc, they find a way to put it in the net. There's a reason why your Messis, Ronaldo's, Kanes and Salahs all deliver. It's their genius and quality. Those players are irreplaceable not matter if there's a system that can be introduced get more goals to other players to make up for the loss of goals because you can't replace goals. I was never accusing you of saying salah was bad, my point was that you seem to form random, unresearched opinions with lack of evidence or any meaning most of the time. I'm not saying you're a bad guy or person by the way, I just think your ball knowledge is always very questionable when I've watched you on anything haha
