I really feel sorry for Dale. Something is off. How can you go from “retiring” to schlepping business cards at baseball games enticing people with $50 discounts. Really? That’s your business plan? Every time I hear a MLM’er tell me they’re retired, I take that with a huge grain of salt because their definition of “retirement” is different than mine. If I was retired, I’d be sitting in the luxury box lounge enjoying the game and the fellowship of my friends/family, not cold-call prospecting strangers at baseball games. 😮😮😢😢 Super Sad for Dale.

I’ll just stick to buying and selling at local shows (free/low cost of entry), ebay (sales tax/fees),Twitter/Facebook groups, and paid discord services (community). The fallacy is that he’s bought and everything has or will gone/go up. It doesn’t work that way. I looked and he has one football card. Specifically in sports cards, big corporations (Fanatics) are already monopolizing/consolidating the industry. Also, I think he means Funko Pop and not shopkins 😂

Dale appears very excited that "this has never been done before" and that, instead of consumables, his company sells collectables. But there's a big reason MLM companies have stuck to consumables and why almost all the billion dollar MLM companies sell consumables - it's what works inside the MLM model. Mind you, I'm not defending MLM, but for decades, companies and MLM leaders across the industry have stressed why consumables make companies successful. Getting distributors and customers on auto-ship for a monthly supply of vitamins or shampoo or whatever means ongoing residual sales. Finding customers who buy a collectable every now and then is a very poor way of establishing an ongoing income, and a great way to go crazy racing around day and night trying to find new customers...So, even if you believed in MLM, Collect Direct would be a dubious choice.
@sunny747639 ай бұрын
The Dave dude he's talking about that has a warehouse full of collector's items was the owner of Valentus, a coffee/drinks MLM. Real question is, if he has such a valuable collection, why would he not just setup a simple e-commerce website and do some easy marketing to sell the collectibles? Why does the MLM structure even exist if the collectibles are so valuable?

I got a couple takeaways about this legitimate MLM from this video. First of all it's super interesting they decided to go with collectibles as a product, which is literally the most useful product for money laundering since the value could literally be anything and you can make a legitimate looking margin on it lol. They're starting with $2.5bn from some guy's personal collection? So this guy is likely top 50 richest people on earth considering he spent $2.5bn on a collection (which would make it one of the highest value "collections" in the world)? Sounds more likely to me, referring to the first point, they're heavily inflating the price of the collectibles to make a massive margin on it. This guy named beanie babies, really? Those are barely collecting and rarely for good value. People in the 90s bought the shit out of them hoping they would become collectible, only for the market to crash because no one wanted to collect them. Perfect product to inflate value out of. Good luck selling $100 a month (or whatever the requirement to keep your rank is) of collectibles to retail customers. These items are likely going to be overpriced, besides he is underplaying how hard it is to connect a specific willing buyer with a specific, rare, niche item for that value. To keep your rank it seems it will be far easier to purchase these items yourself in the hope to resell them, or perhaps recruit people to buy those items from you or instead of you. EDIT also I challenge anyone that supports this MLM to show me articles older than 2 years showing a. How Dave Jordan made the money that allows him to own a $2.5bn collection and b. Dave Jordan being recorded as a major player in collecting, either as a buyer or a seller of a noteworthy item, or the owner of a noteworthy collection.

If the business is legitimate, what's the point of implementing the MLM structure? Why doesn't this guy that owns all of these collectibles simply sell them via a website and market via Google? I would strongly push back on Dale's claim that word of mouth is the best advertising known to man. That may have been true for a particular time period, but in our current generation, digital marketing is much more effective. Being on that first page of a Google search is absolutely imperative.

55:00 idk if I’d completely dismiss d2d as a method that is unsuccessful that no one uses. It is insanely difficult yes but also insanely profitable if you’re willing to do it. I’ve seen this first hand myself and with people I know

Unless he has a crystal ball, Dave, or Dale, or whoever, is taking a huge risk by purchasing a bunch of trendy merchandise and assuming that it will appreciate in value and there will even be a collectibles market for said merchandise at some future point in time. In all likelihood, it will be rendered worthless garbage. Very few things are collectible anymore. We live in a culture of consumption and disposal. Planned obsolescence. It's all about novelty and the fleeting dopamine reward of an impulse buy. There is no value in the product itself; there is always a shiny new object right around the corner to buy today and throw out tomorrow. And it's all happening on Amazon, not some antiquated website. The current generation now spends millions of dollars on intangibles like NFT's for god's sake! Even if we were to humor Dale by pretending to believe that he is not a scammer perpetrating a pyramid scheme, his "business model" is short-sighted. He is nostalgic for a bygone era. He is a dinosaur. Maybe they could manufacture Dale the Dinosaur action figures and create a new MLM scheme to sell them! I kinda feel bad for him. Also pretty sure Dave doesn't exist.
