Debbie Allen is an icon. On top of being an Emmy-Award winning dancer, singer, choreographer, actress, director, and more, she spends much of her time pouring in to the talent of the next generation at her studio, the "Debbie Allen Dance Academy."
I had the privilege of attending her Summer Intensive programs when I was in high school, and her impact, energy, and life directly affected the trajectory of my own. Now that she's celebrating 10 years of her highly-acclaimed play, "The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker," I finally had the chance to interview her! Listen, as she gives game on the key to longevity, breaking down barriers, discovering Jada Pinkett Smith and her pride in Taraji P. Henson and more.
