This song, and the movie has always had a place in my heart. In '86, while in the Air Force...I was incredibly lucky, and proud, because so few of us had the honor of spending 6 weeks in Australia. I fell in love with the place, and a woman who was incredibly beautiful...inside and out. Even before I met her, I was fighting the urge to become MIA (Missing In Australia). It was every love story, wrapped up in one...and even tho my heart was broken due to distance, and the damage done by the first war with Iraq...I would never have wanted to miss any part of it. I made many friends in Newcastle, and they would not let me leave without drawing a boomerang on the ceiling of the bar, and signing it...meaning that I would have to return...which is in the works. It's gonna be a one way voyage. 🇦🇺
