This is an excellent song and I wish Debbie Gibson could read this. This song has a sad tone and it's beautiful and passionate. Never been in this situation but for a person that doubts their significant other. The song is romantic and the tone nails the feeling of the "where have you been " question

Remarkable piece of creativity perfectly performed and ignored by her record label, in the process of wrecking her success damn them.

I wanted this to be a single when the album Anything Is Possible first came out, I always thought this was one of her BEST ballads, it was like Foolish Beat, but this time, all grown up, and it is a major shame Atlantic did not push this out for radio

Prob her BEST ballad! I agree, it’s so underrated and very tragic that her record company failed her on this. I love this song. I also love Lead Them Home My Dreams. So good. Seen her live when I was 13! Then again at 44!!! Lol

One of the best songs ever actually. Absolutely perfectly crafted song. She still somewhat sounds like a little kid vocally, but overpowers it with her voice near the end of the song.

Couldn't agree with you more, Eric. I have to admit that it didn't strike me as a potential single because of its length, but it could have been edited. The "Anything Is Possible" album was a bit uneven, especially on the first side, but it had so many shining moments, this song being one of them. The instrumental parts and arrangements are so moody, the melody is amazing, and Debbi's vocals are particularly strong on this song. Man, I miss those days...

OMG she was my favorite singer when I was 12-16. I bought her first 3 albums. I still like her music. When I was a kid I even copied her style like all the girls did in the 1980s.
