Debbie starred in the 1957 movie Tammy. This was the theme song. She recorded it and it stayed on the top 40 chart for 23 weeks in the US. She received a gold record for this recording. Ironically, Eddie Fisher, her husband at the time, was an award winning popular singer. Debbie has said he got a little jealous about her getting a gold record and having a hit with this song Tammy.

He cheated on her “romantically“ (had a mistress) and financially he stole a lot of her fortune. Too bad for her. Around 3:25 in this interview, she talks about how great he was.

They did not ask her. But she asked them. And director Mike Nichols said `You`re not getting off that easy`. Good for him! This Reynolds woman is Prime Manipulator Number One.

@@countfosco1 Mental. Gives gay women a bad name. Underhanded, devious. Had to interfere with and orchestrate everything. `Stage managed Carrie`s marriaage to a gay man. Tried to get (maybe got) the grandfdaughter to give evidence against the mother for child molestation. Had her daughter committed for convulsive shock therapy. A notorious antisemite. Think a great deal of ambivalence toward and abuse of Carrie had to do with having had a child by a Jew. Reynolds was a spiteful and competitive woman with absolutely no talent. She got in with MGM`s Lillian Burns to ensure she`d have no competition as per new MGM acquisitions. Reynolds was gay at a time when it was scandalous to discover a leading lady, pitched as sex bait, was gay. To my mind she reeks of Nazi stink. I said so in `Down With Myth America` NY TImes 24 May 1970 by Sandra Shevey.
