How to Sew a Drawstring Pouch with appliqué by Debbie Shore

Sew this simple pouch as a re-useable gift bag, or handy storage bag! I've fussy cut one of the birds on my fabric and appliqued it to one side, and also quilted one side of the bag.

Materials:
20" x 7" [50cm x 18cm] upper fabric [plus a littel extra if you're using the applique]
20" x 4" [50cm x 10cm] bottom fabric
20" x 12" [50cm x 30cm] lining fabric
20" x 2" [50cm x 5cm] fabric for the channel
Two pieces of ribbon each measuring 24" [61cm]
20" x 12" [50cm x 30cm] fusible fleece [H630]
Cut:
Two upper pieces each measuring 10" x 7" [25cm x 18cm]
Two pieces of bottom fabric each measuring 10" x 4" [25cm x 10cm]
Two pieces of channel fabric each measuring 10" x 2" [25cm x 2.5cm]

I love everything that you make Debbie. I don't make all the items, but I learn new techniques with everything. I learnt to make bags, the rucksack being the first one I did during lockdown. It was a Godsend to me, and sewing kept me sane when we couldn't go out! Thank you so much for your instructions and inspiration.

Thank you Debbie. I’ve really lost my sewjo at the moment. However, this is a lovely simple project that I can do to get me back into my sewing. I have the most beautiful fabrics from your shop. So for now, I take my beautiful fabrics out, admire them and neatly fold and put back…..it’s a thing 😍

Debbie, what a lovely idea! I’ve just got out of hospital from a shoulder op and my daughter is going into hospital in a week 🤦‍♀️(what a couple 😂 and at the end of the year), so I’ll make her this bag with goodie’s that she might need.
