Oh my! What a treat today for me to make time to nurture my spirit and tune in to Radio Chris. A cuppa always tastes twice as nice with your dulcet tones. Your Joy in discovery speaks to my inner child and doubles the pleasure when learning new techniques. Many thanks. 🍃🌳🍁🌳🍁

I think I watched in the wrong order but no matter. That second branch folder came out so beautiful. It's interesting what the difference in inks made. Definitely good fun experimenting. I feel like there are too many oak species to count. Someone was really upset with that folder, saying that's not oak, and going on and on. Well, one - artistic license, and two - I went down the google rabbit hole and there are many, many oaks that don't have the traditional leaf shape so who am I to judge. I'm certainly not a botanist and who can tell from a drawing. Me, I just love the look of the folder.

Lovely effect from this technique and a quicker way to colour & create a bold and pretty background. I like oxides for blending quality and the more subtle or softer look, but I know you have the original Disress know but since oxides, haven't used them. These may work better as the chalk layer of darker oxides make the surface look dulled down and matt, unless you use photo paper and wipe the chalk layer away with a dampened day or wet wipe revealing the gloss of the photo paper and vibrant base colours. I'm still subscribed, KZbin didn't mess with my subscriptios, and I watch your videos daily or at least every time you post them.

Love all your experimentation. Looks like a technique I’ll be trying soon. You might want to put your embossing folders hinged side first. I think that may make it easier to crank through. That’s how I was taught. Hope that helps.

If the hinged side is too difficult too sounds through, it's best to try it open side first

Gorgeous effects! I really like the looks of the one with clear embossing powder, but they are all beautiful and unique. I have an embossing folder that has minimal background (similar to the one you have with the leaves). I would like to use Pebeo gilding wax but am not sure how I would go about spreading it on the background without getting it into my burgundy debossed image. Maybe I could try a brayer. I'm hoping it wouldn't be too bold since the background is very minimal. You've opened a world of opportunities! Thank you! 👍👍❤❤👍👍

It is a thicker consistency and ends up giving a slight sheen to the finished effect.
