If I build a guitar and play I expect you to comment the same thing

did your floyd rose copy stay in tune well? i have this guitar and have been using for about a week. i upgraded to locking tuners and balance the bridge perfect and it stays in tune for abt 30 mins and goes out of tune slightly with use.

it pretty much stayed in tune after tweaking between the claw and tuning a bit till i get a even pull on both ends before i locked in the nuts

Just got mine in the mail. Was a bit worried about installing a floyd from scratch but this video reminded me its basically like setting it up for new strings. Im gonna paint mine a neon yellow with pink pickups. Similar to the RG series. Did you do any fret work? Mine seem mostly good but a bit sharp on a couple of the high frets.

mine didnt need any fret work

@@DebParedes Thats good to hear. Mine didnt need alot. Only a couple of edges needed smoothing.

watched the video a couple times, how deep do the posts go? they look like you just finger pushed them in but in the later result the bridge seems to be aligned with the outline of body cut-out. is it preference or should the trem be flush with body outline? thanks
@DebParedes Жыл бұрын
the posts were reajusted (not on the vid) according to what felt right for my playing, in this case i prefered a low string action so i slowly made the adjustment while feeling for the string height after every tap on the posts(using a light hammer)...so its one tap on posts, then feel the strings.. repeated a few times till it felt right

@@DebParedes thank you so much for the help! i have seen several comments that the spring tension should not be used when adjusting height because it destroys the knife edge? my strings feel too low but wasnt sure if the posts needed to be flush with body or if they could stick out a bit, I think you've given me good guidance now
@RebelEdits Жыл бұрын
@@apaches04soccer Correct, spring tension should only be adjusted when the bridge either raises or lowers instead of being flush with the guitar body. This generally only happens when you change string gauges.

Thanks! i now see why theres a need for different gtrs at different tunings... floyds arent as quick to tune as others@@RebelEdits

How is the quality of those diy kits?
@DebParedes Жыл бұрын
well this kit has a Mahogany Body and Maple Neck, which if you look it up you'll find these type of wood excellent for both electric and acoustic guitars..maple wood are popular on Fenders(maple is also known as fender wood)..the wirings are great and i have no complaints on the pups...id leave it as it is,..other builders might want to upgrade the pups..but not me. we are on our 3rdkid now and happy with the outcome.

@@DebParedes right on. I hadd been looking at a few types and later on wanted to buy a few ice man and one of the 7 string versions to work on and also do some customizing
