When PM modi took over the office in 2014.Debt to gdp ratio was 67.4 and now after 6 years its 68.6 which means just a marginal increase of 1.2% despite having so many road and rail infrastructure projects completed/going on. Providing farmers 6000 rupees every year Providing subsidized ration to poor Providing money in jandhan accounts through DBT Providing 6000rupees to females after delivery of a new born.Just for your info more than 2.5 crore kids are born every year in india. There are so many other schemes as well. Good job Modi sir👍🏻

2.7% is govt debt to gdp.which is around 100 billion dollars. reaming 16.3% which is around 450 billion dollars debt is of private or commercial debt which is owned by private companies.

I think, government has taken step to Reduce their fiscal deficit by GST implementation,which has reduced their debt by 0.1percent w.r.t previous year data. Fiscal Deficit - difference between *total* revenue and *total* expenditure of govt. Also gives an indication of amount of total borrowings needed to implement it's annual budget. Debt-to-GDP ratio - Measure of debt vs GDP of a country. If the ratio is Low - economy has sufficient amount of money to pay back, without incurring more/further debt. And visa versa if ratio is high.

Party A borrows money for expending in the country, that is his debt. Unfortunately, in the next election Party A loses the government, Party B wins the government. Now, the government is Party B. So, my question the money which is borrowed by Party A, now which government will repay the money. Party A or Party B.
