Great explanation on the cats cradle. All the Tucker rulers are worth their weight in gold.

The combo method (v. making each individual unit) is great. Before I knew about the short cut method, I made this block (with HST in the corner and two flanking triangles on 1/3 of the unit). It finished at 3". Needless to say, I became quite expert at making this block as I had to make about 140 of them. Nevertheless, they finished beautifully. I now have a specialty ruler, which I like quite well. But I like the first trim with that ruler, and the 2nd trim with my Tucker Trimmer. This block when put in the corner of any of your favorite nine patches creates stunning geometry--all the more so if you put an HST in the corner. For those wanting an HST in the corner, you would used the clipped corner method.

I love making shaded four patch blocks, although I call them cat's cradle blocks. In the past I have used the Cats Cradle ruler since I did not know about your technique sheet. Your quilts are beautiful as always.

Oh, boy! This video ends with a real cliff hanger! The threat of most dreaded thing in quilting…I‘ll just have to wait two weeks to find out what you present. Sounds like we are about to be seriously Tuckerized! See you then, Deb.

Another great video. I love this unit. I'd like to know more about adding hst's to the corners like Sarah's video (only all 3 corners) and "what if" making corners 4 patch or square in square or some other unit. Seems a little tricky. Maybe a new technique sheet? (FYI-Tks for acknowledging Schneider and Caffrey. I hate when people imply they invent something from thin air that had its foundation in someone else's work. You are very good about giving credit. Appreciated.)

You could "add" the HST by using the clipped corner method to the sewn square.

Do you have a method to make this block where the small square is an HST?
@DebTuckersStudio180Design2 жыл бұрын
We don't have a technique sheet for video for it. But what you can do is, once the unit is made and trimmed you can Corner Pop the small square to get this look.
