Apologies for the delay in releasing this episode! It was a ton of work compiling all this information togethers and editing the final cut. I hope you all find it informative and useful. BTW.. I don't think viewing the Color Palette or Resetting the system are 'advanced' features (lol)... but learning to use the Console is, and it's very powerful. We'll get more in-depth with that in the future. I hope you enjoy the video and I look forward to working on the next one shortly! 🤪

I assure you all, this video is available in 4K. KZbin is taking forever to finish processing it. It should be complete 90 minutes after this post.

Thanks so much for making these videos - they have been very helpful as I struggled through the process of writing a game for the 2600. And now, with only 4 bytes of ROM free, I think I'm done :)

That's awesome, I glad you've found these videos useful! Imagine what you can add into your game with those 4 free bytes! 😀

@@8Blit ah I don´t know programming and find it too far fetched for my poor memory, so I make games without coding using special click and play software! and so I´ve done some games in that manner, one even acts looks and behaves like an Atari 2600 game!

Another great episode Kyle. Quality over quantity every time. Really interesting stuff. And good tips with the Stella debugger. Cheers, smarty.

Artist tools to make Atari 2600 like games without programming! This may be a fun topic for a future video if you´d be interested! and I have all the tools and ideas with me. How can I email them to you so you can check? As much as I respect the intelligent minds that make the games, artists like me who don´t code, would also love to make a game the Atari 2600 way..
@8Blit Жыл бұрын
I was planning an episode in the future specifically targeting artists and people wanting to mock up a game screen on paper or in a paint program. I see so many images or videos of something in the 'style' of an Atari 2600 and they're almost always way off. Not really sure then that would come out though.

Id love to just know how Pitfall Harry is a multi colored sprite.

My apologies, I just saw this comment. If you haven't already found it, this episode covers multi colored sprites. kzbin.info/www/bejne/il6ZiIxjf8mdfNE

Really appreciated this video! I also have no idea how I managed to miss that Stella had a palette display command! 😂 All that arduous wasted time Googllng for palette -> hex images for nothing... I feel cheated! 🤣

Thanks Keith, glad you liked it! As for the palette, it's the little things that count the most!
