Holy shit 12k and +40 subs, you guys are insane. ❤️ I’d also like to address some criticisms in the comments here. 1. Someone made a good point about the tank tread double gattling build being in the tutorial mission, so Alex could’ve gotten the build from there. That’s 100% true and I forgot about that. 2. About my statement where I mention I think you have to beat the game 3 times in order to say you beat the game. If you disagree that’s perfectly fine. Personally because their are completely new missions in NG*+ and arena missions, as well as new parts in NG+, I feel this is justified. Normally with any other game, including other souls games I wouldn’t agree, but with AC in particular I think it’s a fair statement. I can’t think of any other game where you can not complete the main campaign missions or the side content and say you beat the game. AC is just unique in this way imo. 3. About Build balance. A lot of people are bringing up Zimmermans being to good and I can agree, I don’t think there’s no balance issues but I don’t think it’s as big of an issue as it’s made to be. Zimmermans are the only weapon I truly think needs a nerf, chainguns are strong but run out of ammo on longer missions and it’s impossible to S-rank most missions with them due to ammunition use. Thank you guys sm for the comments, subs and interacts. A ton of great comments. More AC content coming and have a good day. 🙏

I would say a minor criticism to me is the number of set piece mission. What I mean is there isn’t a lot of mission like the strider where you fight a huge machine boss that you can fight on. I was really hoping for two at least in the game but we only got one. I don’t really count the PCA ships cause they just die in one shot. Like imagine a PCA mothership that as big as spirit of mother will and boss is the level. That what I was hoping for.

I was actually taken aback when he said there was no story in Armored Core 6. If a player comes away from the game thinking there was no story, then it just means they weren’t really paying attention. Fromsoft tells stories that make me think about them long after I’ve stopped playing. Not only are they really good, they’re genuinely thought provoking.
@prncrx
@prncrx Жыл бұрын
Not even just "not paying attention", dude had to have been actively ignoring everything but the gameplay. there's no possible way to say there's no story when, even ignoring data logs, every mission has a briefing explaining what's going on in the world, a fair few cutscenes, almost constant dialogue both during the missions and during pre- and post-mission screens, and literal story choice missions leading to 3 different endings.

Reminds me of the take of a german review i watched , were they complained about constantly switching sides without impact of how those corps see you and almost no storytelling.... well they never made it past baldy and to be fair, prior to that there is not that much dialogue/infodump, especially if you don't pay attention to detail (as you're already overburdened with the task to stay alive) and are not searching for logs.

Then I fought Rusty and now I can't get it out of my head. Not just the battle, but characters and the weight behind it all elevated that song from like a 5/10 to a 9/10. I'm not gona lie the second he said ac6 had no story kinda made me a bit miffed for how much I hear that targeted towards FS games. AC6 is probably one of the most straightforward most traditionally told stories FS has done in a while (also counting sekiro) but all that told me is that Joe did not watch any cutscene unless it would have human characters, but even then how did he somehow miss all the dialogue in the middle of missions? There's so much of it and even character development in the MIDDLE of missions There's so much character OOZING out of every mission in ac6 that I find it hard to miss unless he just refused to pay attention or didnt even bother. And also you kinda nailed that FS fans hated their first playthrough least in my experience Hated dark souls 1 untill ornstein and smough whipped me into shape and taught me to "git gud" Only then did I start loving Souls

I LOVE the level design in this game. Each AC6 mission felt unique, massive Strider assault, PCA warships ambush your mission, Coral explosion escape sequence, ambushing Vespers with Middle Flatwell, stealth mission, escort mission, navigating low visibility city, stop the hacking bots, hunt Honest Brute, etc. None were repeated, only a single escort mission, only one stealth. They made tons of different mission types and polished them to perfection, and then added fun branching options to some of them in New Game+.

Exactly and the fact that we have a mission select and many of the missions are 5-10 minutes long is so cool. It keeps the pace of the game high, has great variety and personally I’ve missed this mission structure. Nowadays almost every game has a hub area or open world. We can’t just have simple mission selects anymore like why used to so I vibe with AC’s mission structure and level design so heavy.

On NG+, I started paying much closer attention to phrases and things in the AC6 universe. By NG++, I was fully invested in what will come next. Fromsoft didn't disappoint, either. I was a little worried it'd be as weak as NG+, in terms of new content, but I had a combat log guide telling me that a lot of stuff was coming. And it did, and it was awesome. I loved the NG++ story. Exactly. This idea is basically put right up in your face when you get to the end of the early mission to destroy transport helicopters. You close in on the last group of enemies, and you can hear them cry, “We’re no match for an AC!” shitting themselves in terror. MT’s are huge armored battle machines, yet they crumble utterly against the power of your machine. The fact that Joe and Alex missed this very obvious design choice says all you need to know about their lack of effort.

This is also lore-accurate. Souls games tend to put players in a shoes of nobody (good hunter, ashen one, tarnished, etc) hence most enemies is difficult gameplay-wise. But in the armored core universe, a single pilot with their AC is enough to become a decisive factor in battle. Any attempts to fight one without overwhelming force or another AC is often considered stupid or suicidal, it's like the pilots and their titans in titanfall, but cranked to 11.

Even if I never played it myself, I know that AC6 did have a solid story about the usage of Coral and how a bunch of companies were trying to get their hands on Rubicon. We got tragic characters like Handler Walter, Ayre, Carla, Rusty.... Sure, some characters might be unbearable, like Snail, who for their intended purpose worked as this scummy big boss type of character, and then Iguazu, who might annoy people for how much salt engrained inside his body.... although his character had some impressive feats deserved some respect, especially in "True Ending" route. But they didn't make the story significantly worse. Sure, the story might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's not that bad when you take a look at it.

I think one thing people tend to forget is that Armored Core is not a souls-like. Yes it’s from a publisher that is more known for souls-like games. As a result it is understandable to come in with the assumption that it’s “mech souls-like” but it’s not. You’re meant to push yourself, make builds. Think outside the box. More importantly, be hyper aggressive at times. Some of these aspects are found exclusively in Armored Core. Everything that you are given is a tool, like tools, some can be used more than their intended use. However there are tools made for specific instances that shine in that instance. Is Angry Joe wrong at times? Maybe, but he does have some logical points. Or maybe I’m stupid.

There is no downside to them in story missions (PvP has been decent for build diversity), and the fact that the recent buffs haven't done much to improve the very weak/mediocre weapons in the game. Compared to the older games, you could use almost anything and still be able to beat missions albeit it being more difficult. BUT in AC6 it's different because if your build can't stagger, your damage is pitiful and it makes most builds less fun since bosses will punish you for not having enough damage/stagger (IE Ibis and Fires ending final boss).

I'm not even finished with my first playthrough and there is already more story in-game than probably all of Souls combined. This is one of From games besides Sekiro that feature the most direct storytelling. You actually get to see the story told to you through mission briefings, character interactions, and cutscenes. Sure it's not as personal as Sekiro where the game actually shows characters' faces, but it's already leaps and bounds over your typical Souls' "hidden lore in the item descriptions" that we got these past decade.

I feel like the devs did a good job trying to teach the player in the early game but its easy to shrug off the training missions as not important, especially with how easy it is to deal with regualr enemies, or to not understand 1 or two basic gameplay mechanics. Then the player does a faceplant when the real missions bring the difficulty spike and the devs expect you to have learned what they presented. That and the story being somewhat cerebral with 4-5 factions being introduced in the first chapter can make it confusing and make it a poor experience for the first chapter of the game. Add on the fact that many reviewers or players dont even finish NG and it is not surprising armored core gets some mediocre review scores.

And of course Rusty and Iguazu - your war buddy, friend and companion, and your nemesis, with low self-esteem, who envies you, who has always been given the worst blows. Armored Core lore from the very beginning is that Armored Cores were invented with the Core in mind, that you could keep this Core, and change out everything else on the fly for mission to mission encounters. In short, ACs are modular. This is actually one of the first ACs that flex that lore in its gameplay making you have to swap your build up for certain missions. Not quite an AC vet, but I'm still quite experienced with the series and was introduced by way of AC3. I picked this game up with the opposite expectation: I expected both good gameplay and a serviceable story, delivered in a manner that elevated it above its face value and given with the honest belief that I could piece everything that was given myself and consider the moral or philosophical dilemmas it presented me with. That is part of the appeal of AC, and it goes hand-in-hand with all the mech building and heavy metal mayhem. The plots taken on their own, isolated from all other aspects are basic, but do not conflate that with a bad story. A plot is a vehicle for the story to build around, the story is built by motivations and actions of various parties, and to remove both this and the manner of their delivery as well as the gameplay you must soldier through to get it all is to remove from them that special ingredient that makes it memorable. Otherwise, I'd not have a giant hateboner for Mirage, the backstabbing shits they are. You need to consider all of this when considering the story's quality. And what we have here is undeniably a story that not only adheres to the solid standards set by prior games, it also manages to oddly enough ooze more character and humanity into it than most of the previous entries. Bonus points for not hiding the mainline plot away in a hard mode like AC4 and FA did and it isn't just a glorified prelude like Nexus was to Last Raven. There are things I despise about this game, namely its trend towards Dark Souls mechanics and trappings, but on story it has my unfettered admiration.

So far I agree with almost all of your points, but I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility for someone to stumble upon an overpowered or meta build all on their own. I for example didn’t look anything up until after my first NG cycle, and ended up using the “wheelchair” tank treads with double songbirds through a large chunk of my first playthrough. Had no idea that tank treads negated the “firing stance” pause until I had experimented with different parts, and all I did was buy parts that gave me more blue numbers in the garage. Then on my 2nd playthrough I ended up using reverse joints & double zimmermans and again had no idea how popular that playstyle was. I’m not familiar with angry Joe or his team, and I’m sure there is a large possibility he lifted that build idea from somewhere else, so I’m not defending him or his point about cannon fodder enemies, but more so I wanted to defend myself for unwittingly falling into playstyles a lot of people would consider OP.

My biggest complaint is actually mission size. I dont really care for linear segmented missions in general but it would work fine if the missions were a little more involved. Im always comparing the level structure to halo 1,2 and 3. In those games there are only a dozen levels but theyre massive and involved, with many different kinds of scenarios. Why do i need 20 missions to farm the same amount of money from? Once you get an easy boss for 300k you will never use anything else... Also the first run took me exactly 15 hours. 100 percent took 25. I agree that there is merit in ng2 and 3 but you wont convince me that the subsequent playthroughs were on par with the first one. It was kind of silly to spam through the cutscenes and dialogue i just seen in the first one and have to be so careful not to skip something that was new. Also enemies do feel like they lack variety, are to few in numbers, and many just get blasted out of the way like fodder. Short levels and easy regular eneimes can be fun in their own way but i would like a little more sophistication and varitation. Im a huge souls player but this is my first armored core. If that fan base prefers this and doesnt consider my list of flaws to be flaws then that is fine and the series might not be for me. Despite enjoying many of the facets of the game, i never really feel like there is enough meat on the bone. I enjoyed the story, reminded me of metal gear solid codec calls. I dont think its perfect though. I think there is definite room for improvement but there is a great story in ac6.

While I don't think like the guy above me that will say halo is trash I really fail to see the comparison this is a mech game Halo is a first person shooter, Enemy variety in halo 1-2-3 are also quite lacking with 2 adding brutes and 3 having more of the infested flood units around, which in larger games/missions I consider enemy variety lacking to be an issue AC has most of the missions under the 4 min mark so I consider it just fine. And common now..unless you play on legendary you are gonna slaughter the halo games like nothing and make those massive maps feel quite empty soon

@darkwhispersstories47 I draw comparison between the 2 because they are linear, segmented levels focused around shooting. I am not saying ac needs to be halo. I'm just saying there are things that translate between the two and halo is superior in these things. Being a 20 year old original Xbox game you wouldn't expect this. I brought up halo when speaking about level structure. I never said anything about halos enemy variety and didn't compare it with ac. I will say halos enemies feel like they work better together and are mote unique individually. It makes no sense to me that armored core can be excused for poor enemy variety because they also have poor mission structure and length. You aren't just walking through heroic either but why are you not playing on legendary? Or at least whichever difficulty works with your skill level?

Here comes a comment neither rof you asked for, but I feel it ties into the complexity of the story and characters. I found that I had no trouble grasping the story from the beginning, and I didn't feel that the factions and characters were introduced too quickly, but that may just be me. Been a fan since the ps2 Era when I was a wee boy, and tend to pick up things quickly. I personally enjoyed the dynamic with Ayre and 621, and the story around 621 in particular. 621 is more or less a call back to human PLUS, and is more or less a weapon is owned, a tool to be used, more and less than a human being. The entire setting of the world is uncaring to his own desires or well being as long as isn't in line with their motivations, and even then he is disposable as seen with how the two main corps own squads treat 621, and something to be used and disposed of when they are no longer of use or are deemed too dangerous. It can be argued that Walter cared about 621 from the beginning given his ties in the plot with human augmentation, but he still uses 621 as a tool regardless of whether or not he wanted the best for them until a certian point. *SPOILERS* when you end up fighting Walter when he is under the control of the coral weapon AC, I feel like there is not only brain washing pushing him to fight or it may be utilizing something that is already there. When he talks about his friends wishes, I realized that he may be well aware that we dashed his hopes and gutted the mission he wanted us to got through with, as well as killed Carla. 621 had forsaken the efforts he and friends had invested up to that point, all the blood sweat and tears, and there may have been genuine anger towards 621. At the same time, we see other thoughts and feelings from him as well. He wanted 621 to undo their augmentations after completing his mission, and find peace in a "normal life", the freedom to be a human being instead of a living weapon. It's possible he would have wanted this for all the other hounds in his service, but he knew that was unlikely given how dangerous their work was, and settled for the next best thing to ease his conscience: mercy in death for what he considered a noble cause, to repent for the sins of his father and prevent further horrors of the weaponization of coral. In the end though, when he could have kept fighting, he chose to stop when he realized 621 had his own friend to fight for, seeing Ayre for the first time during the fight, realizing what Ayre was. Really, the only faction that does not callously regard 621 is arguably the liberation front. They don't go out of their way to betray or dispose of 621, they only send you on dangerous missions because you are the only one who can take them who is capable enough to do them. *SPOILERS* as for rusty's attack on 621 in the survey, I'd say he was acting of his own accord that that point, though he does share the view that 621 is too dangerous with thumb, though for very different reasons. To rusty, 621 is an unknown that cannot be trusted as he doesnt know why 621 fights. I feel the only reason flatwell chooses attack 621 after failing to persuade rusty is because rusty has always been an ally to the front, he cannot bring himself to attack him and sides with rusty to protect him from 621. In the final fight between 621 and rusty, I'd argue that rusty respects 621 more by that point than he did before, but still fights him for the sake of his cause. Thing is, even if he knew there was another way besides killing 621, I don't believe he would take the risk and would still kill 621 given the chance by that point. His cause is worth too much to him to take such risk as 621 in that ending has chosen to ignite the coral and burn Rubicon, which would genocide probably nearly everyone on Rubicon.
@grizzlyadams5410
@grizzlyadams5410 Жыл бұрын
Then there is Ayre, who demonstrated more compassion and more of a connection to 621 than any other character throughout the game, showing concern for his life, among other factors. *SPOILERS* even when things turn sour between her and 621 in the fires of raven ending, you can still see she cares. Regardless of certian things she says to 621 in that fight, particularly scornful words, even when she kills 621 she shows great remorse, and I am convinced that if there was any other way that would prevent the death of 621, she would take it. Whether that be through persuasion, or other means, I believe Ayre would do it. Hell, I think she would have simply tried ro stop him from achieving his goal at that point if it didn't involve killing him, such as a form of stasis, it's just a matter of whether or not that was achievable. Feel that she doesn't simply choose to kill him, she is forced to, there was genuinely no other way by that point, as shown with how the only way allmind was able to put 621 in stasis is by him WILLINGLY allowing it. Even then, Ayre could have blasted him with the damn PCA satellite, and she didn't. Though I feel that there is a reason for that, as long as 621 had the goal of burning the coral, he would always be a threat, so personally handling it is the only way she could be sure. The ship may have been the only way at the time, but she felt he was so driven that he would find another way as long as that was still his goal. I cannot hold anything against Ayre as that ending is the genocide of her species and the human beings on Rubicon, and there is no guarantee that it won't happen again, much like how coral and humanity survived the fires of IBIS. Making her death, and all the other deaths, a sacrifice in vain. Then there is 621 and their relation to Ayre, and the potential drives for why they side with Ayre in the liberation ending AND the die is cast ending. A consistent theme throughout the game is sacrifice in the sake of ones cause. As mentioned before, Ayre is the only individual to build a strong bond with them, and I believe would be the only one to spare 621 if the option was there. So what does 621 sacrifice? I'd say it varies by ending, but I'd say that by the die is cast ending, 621 is the one to sacrifice something no one else in their place was either able to or willing to sacrifice: their own humanity, and it can be argued in my opinionwhether or not they did it for the greater good and/or for their own personal reasons. As shown with the logs of thumb and his dialogue, he heard a coral entity as well through his consumption of coral, and he learned of coral release but refused to attempt it when he learned what would become of him and the rest of humanity on Rubicon 3. He was afraid of the unknown and very drastic change that comes with it, and this stopped consuming coral to cut the connection between him and the coral entity he knew, and he also tried to kill 621 when he realized that 621 had a connection with a coral entity through his coral augmentations. By the die is cast, I'd say that while Ayre is doing it to achieve symbiosis with humanity and coral, it can be argued based on personal interpretation whether or not 621 did it for humanity for for their self, it can very well be both, but allow me to explain. We do not know how long 621 has been a human weapon as a hound, and this we do not know what he personally experienced before being sold of into the service of handler Walter. I think its possible that Ayre is the only real connection that 621 has had in a long time, and as such, I feel it's entirely possible that 622 goes with Ayre's wishes just because Ayre is the only thing they truly care about by that point, and would sacrifice anything for the sake of Ayre. It doesn't matter that allmind killed Carla and Walter, I think 621 would have killed them if he had to. It is possible that 621 regarded the wishes of the rest of humanity that time with the same callousness he had known all his life, especially since he then at a had a reason and someone to fight for that he cared about beyond being a simple task or mission. Where nearly everyone besides a few looked down on 621 as less than human, or took pity on 621 and wished they would have a normal life after the fighting was over, 621 may have had no value of their own life up to that point because of how they were treated, and by the die is cast ending 621 may have looked at their own humanity as an obstacle. But while in previous fromsoft games there are those who try to regain their humanity, or sacrifice it for power or God hood, and so on, I believe it is possible 621 sacrificed it simply to be connected with the only person they cared about, the only person who cares about them, and that is all that mattered to him. I interpret it this way, because it reminds me of Joel from the least of us. He sacrificed a possible cure to save humanity, all for the sake of protecting Eli. Though there are clear differences, the uncertainty of how things will go after doing so and being willing to face that is what makes it dangerous, even if it is done for the right reasons in the caharacters mind. It is a very human thing to do, and I look at it as a demonstration of how love can potentially be as dangerous as hate and callousness. I know my interpretation may not be right until confirmed otherwise, but that's the beauty of it, what's left open to interpretation here is done well, and leaves some nice options to add to the complexity. 621 may have done coral release out of selfishness, out of a belief in the greater good with a willingness to face a great and factly alien sort of change, or both of those to be honest. I just prefer the former because it adds a human touch to an otherwise enigmatic character. I know 621 has a vague personal story intentionally to make it easier to insert yourself as a player, but I don't think it has ot be that way with this character. It would also be a nice mirror to Iguazu, he sides with ALLMIND, abandoned his humanity because he is immensely petty and hates 621 so much, while 621 is chasing coral release to abandon their humanity out of love for Ayre and potentially for the sake of the future of humanity and coral. You could argue that both sides at that point have their own reasons and are technically fighting for the same thing, but given my concerns with allmind, I'd argue that is not the case. I find that the Glow of the IBIS series AC that Iguazu/allmind use is reminiscent of the glow from the Hal AC, and that leads me to a particular suspicion: I suspect that ALLMIND is a synthetic coral entity created by the Rubiconian Institute, given the words of another youtuber, suspecting that ALLMIND is a creation of Walter's father, given the goal of symbiosis between coral and humanity. What is uncertain, is ALLMINDS goals after coral release, and what would happen to it if it merged with the coral if it is a synthetic coral entity. Personally, I don't trust ALLMIND itself one bit and it's good that it was defeated in that ending. If I had any complaints about the story, I had wished that it would have tied in with the previous games in terms of how humanity ended up in space, but that's not really an issue to me anymore. Might even be something changed in the future with dlc.

@@grizzlyadams5410 I am of the opinion that Allmind is not an (intended) creation of the RRI. The trigger for the Fires of Ibis, as the records show us, was a 'mutant coral' event, which had been a concern for a while. That the artificially high Coral reproductive rate the RRI was using could result in a mutation that would prove dangerous. Allmind calls Ayre a 'Coral wave mutation', yet Ayre has the same color of glow to her as all the other Coral we see... except Allmind. Allmind's machines demonstrate a teal Coral glow effect we see nowhere else, and it refuses to arm it's primary combat platform with Coral weapons. (Even developing the KRSW to imitate the Coral rifle the RRI developed, but without Coral.) It's using the same machine Ayre uses in the Fires of Raven ending to fight us, which we know a Coral intelligence can use. The fittings are different, and it's not running on a Coral reactor anymore, but that is the same Frame. A frame who's head displayed the glow of Coral when Ayre used it, but a Teal glow when Allmind did. I posit that Allmind coming into existence was what triggered the Fires of Ibis. Allmind, a mutant strain of Coral, is born, and instantly starts reproducing rapidly. This Teal glow of 'mutant Coral' is immediately recognized by the RRI and they dispatch the IBIS 02 (CEL 120) to attack the mutant mass rather than burn the Coral as a whole. The Coral doesn't understand the target is the mutant strain, not Coral in general, and seizes control of it. (Hence why we see it defending the convergence during the game.) With no remaining option, the RRI's head researcher ignites the Fires of Ibis. Remember how a survey log noted that across the ice fields, 80% of the Coral was inert and dated back to the Fires of Ibis? Allmind wasn't destroyed during the Fires, but nearly all of it was burned. Allmind was scattered, and amid the devastation found a home in the computer networks left on the planet. (Presumably it took the name of the existing network for itself.) We know Coral can animate electronics from the return to the Egalbert tunnel mission, and that RRI files could be read by Coral intelligences thanks to Dolmayan's writings of what Seriea told him. Allmind, which subsumes intelligences into itself rather than connecting with them as normal Coral does, finds the files of the RRI on the potential for Coral Release, and how the pair triggering it would effect who the Coral behaved. This is why Allmind sets the events of the game in motion and why it turns on 621/Ayre at the end. Only one pair can trigger it, and by doing so all Coral will be in that format. Allmind would 'bring order to chaos' in this way. The fact that Igazu's 'Resonance effect' demanding the voices 'shut up' pushed out both Ayre and Allmind is another indicator that Allmind was a Coral intelligence. Unlike Ayre, who could all on the rest of the Coral to replenish herself, Allmind is distinct from the rest. Using Coral weapons and running a Coral generator on the frame you are using, if your a Coral intelligence, is basically burning yourself as fuel. Allmind doesn't have material to spare, and is too selfish to do so. The last big sign I'd point to for the Allmind is a Coral intelligence theory is this: After Allmind is defeated, it still asks that the Coral be released. It might not get to 'bring order to chaos' but it _is_ still Coral at the end of the day. If Allmind was intentionally made by the RRI, why would the RRI panic at discovering it? Why wouldn't Allmind have codes to bypass the closure Enforcement system guarding Institute city? But that the RRI is _responsible_ for Allmind existing, I think we can agree on. Coral could never reproduce so fast in it's natural habitat, and likely couldn't gather in sufficient density to have sapience as we know it in it's natural habitat. That would also explain why it took so long for even the RRI to realize Coral could have meaningful intelligence. At least, that is what I have come to believe. As you said, interpretation is part of the fun.

I feel like the criticism of Songbird/Zimmermans/Dual Miniguns Tank build is valid, its simply far more powerful than any other build in the game. And it really has little to no weaknesses, you don't have to swap it out for hard fights - I found myself just steamrolling levels and bosses with it. I think the overpowered build would be offset by ammo restrictions in levels where you could run out, but due to from soft adding the resupply depots to every level and giving the player no reward for not using them, that downside to the heavy build disappears.

I only switched it up for the following missions as they have very different setups: Exploration: Depth one. Tanky build, just drop down without evading Nepenthes. Destroy coral transports. Dual coral rifle for easy sniping. Try it yourself. Use double needle launchers and double etsujin MGs. Nothing can stop you.

Great video, I don’t understand how some people say the game has no story or replay ability where the same people will praise Dark souls for having an amazing story where its a lot more cryptic storytelling where as Armoured core 6 is pretty straight forward with Breifings that explain what your doing. I have 160 hours into the game, Finished the story 100% and now playing PvP almost every day and I’m still learning new build designs. This game has a lot of diversity when it comes to combat that’s what I love about it, and nothing is necessarily “Meta” when theirs always a counter build for every scenario. That’s my take

I would argue you don’t even need to do a deep dive since you find out so much in ng+ and ng++.

I love AJS and skill up, but they both just had some really L takes on AC6. It definitely took me by surprise that they did a rapid fire review on it. Theres so much depth and exploration and lore, such a disservice. There are definitely a few bullshit attacks, mainly beam type attacks that are just wtf. Arquebus Balteus laser, a certain NG+ boss's coral laser, even Sea spider laser gets me at times.

A lot of mainstream yt game reviewers are like this toward AC6, because it looks "dull"

Just like they did a rapid fire review on monster hunter world back then, which is a phenomenal game. But hey, at least skill up loves it.

it's less that the attacks themselves are bullshit (although I still find it a struggle to dodge the final NG++ boss's melees) but rather how *stupidly good* the enemy aimbot is. It puts our own to shame and there's no better example of this than the cataphract's laser shotty, which WILL hit you 90% of the time and has far more impact than it should. And of course as you said, most charged beam attacks tend to be a pain to evade because the AI can track you far better than you can. I routinely took hits from the laser turrets in Attack the Watchpoint while going for my S-rank, and that was with a very evasive build.

@rapidrotation I will say some enemies do have insane aimbot, IBIS in particular I found to have ridiculous tracking with its wave attacks. Just finished NG+ last night and looking forward to NG++!

Honestly bro, not too many bosses that walled me past balteus. New to AC in general so I got caught up there, but literally the only thing I had to do was swap my back to the laser cannons and it only took me one or two more attempts. Balteus teaches you everything you’ll need to know to kill the rest of the bosses tbh. It’s nice to have a pocket build like zimms/mini guns because yeah it’s busted but it’s fun and will get you past filters. And even then if you think that you ran through a boss or level too quickly just try a different build and try to clear it. That was my favorite shit to do, put something together that is sub optimal and see how I’d have to change my piloting to beat it. There’s fun to be had in the game, even when it’s difficult.
