Read the Bible. Look at the history of the BOM. Ask yourself does history support the BOM? They're not anti-mormon. They're just pro Christ and pro truth. Just because someone rebukes another religion or debunks them, which is exactly what the people on this channel do constantly, doesn't mean they hate them. If they have the right to speak out against my beliefs by saying we have the wrong interpretation, then we have every right to expose their false truths. We don't call them anti anything. We love LDS. Our goal is to show them the truth. It's to unblind their eyes. Read the Bible and make up your mind. Don't let anyone tell you what to believe.

How many times has the church changed their name to get to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? Members of the LDS church are called Mormons because you follow doctrines of the Book of Mormon, even though it is clearly a plagiarized story (view of hebrews) that was written and published a few years earlier, in a town over from where Mohammad smith lived and was written by one of the 3 witnesses cousins. And he literally plagiarized the Bible itself!! Oh but I forgot “Joseph smith was illiterate, he didn’t know how to read or write” according to the church. Except that he grew up in 19th century upstate New York. The entirety of Joseph smiths story is the same as Mohammad’s in Islam. But yall have been brainwashed to believe that because you use Jesus’s name that yall are Christian and guess what, you’re not. You believe in a completely different Jesus than those that follow Christianity. Go through and actually read the Bible, by itself, without referencing the Book of mormon, or joseph smith’s translation of the King James Version of the Bible and you’ll see, clear as day, that the Bible warned against people like Joseph smith, and his teachings. The D&C, the Pearl of Great Price, all of it is blasphemous to Christianity. Which is why Mormons have to keep changing their doctrines. And before yall come at me, I was raised in the church. I’m still currently considered “inactive”

You might want to study a little bit more.....the Bible does say in Matthew that you will know them by their fruit....... but you can't leave it at that. What are the fruits? In Deut a test is referred to. One is " Has every prediction of that prophet come to pass? That one is very easy ( if you are honest) Joseph Smith himself declared their would the Temple built in his generation in Independence MO. His most devout followers continued to affirm his words up until their deaths. To this day the lot is empty....... conclusion; false prophet. He lied about the Egyptian Scrolls that were purchased in ohio. He said, several times, that they were written by Abraham himself..... further saying God supernaturally revealed to him what they said. WRONG on both counts. They were Egyptian burial instructions. .......and off by 1800 years. Conclusion; false prophet. Isaiah 8:20 says that his words must harmonize with the Bible........He is unbelievably way off! He rewrote the book of Isaiah for Pete's sake saying the King James was wrong. Not only did he rewrite it, he actually wrote himself into it! There is a major problem however...... when the Dead Sea Scrolls were found guess what was with them?....... that's right boys and girls...... the book of Isaiah..........JUST AS KING JAMES VERSION IS WRITTEN. FALSE PROPHET! I've noticed something that religious people do across the board...... they seek affirmation...... not confirmation. An intellectually honest person seeks truth........at all cost

My 4th great grandmother Nancy Ann Clough Jackson knew Joseph Smith in Nauvoo, in fact she and her husband asked him if they should enter into polygamy, as they were childless after 10 years of marriage. The prophet told them polygamy was a calling for some, but in their case, he would give her a blessing to have her own children. A year later, right before the 1844 murder of the prophet, she gave birth to a son, naming him Joseph. My ancestors told of a prophet who was humble, kind, gentle and so personable. I feel I know him and would be his advocate no matter what anyone says about him. I have their personal testimony and need only to build my own upon their first hand knowledge of him.

I find this funny. Mormonism is theologically poor and weak with very little to offer anyone besides what they’ve made up. True Christianity is deeper, more theologically rich and doesn’t just have more to offer, has a much better offer than Mormonism does. The problem is most Mormons know very little about Christianity since they’ve never actually learned what Christianity is or what it teaches. And since they aren’t Christians themselves, it is nearly impossible to recognize the truth in comparison to their own lies they’ve decided to believe.

What evangelicals really mean when they say you are not Christian is that you don't believe in the trinity. I read that originally, in 1830, Joseph Smith called the Church “The Church of Christ”. However, due to so many other churches having the same name and the confusion it caused, in 1834 it was changed to “The Church of The Latter-Day Saints”. Joseph later (in 1838) received revelation to add Jesus’ name back in. So since 1838 it’s officially been “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints”. Anyway, about the use of “Mormon”, similar to the people of the Jewish Faith using the Star of David they were marked with during the Holocaust as their symbol, by adopting the slur “Mormons”, members were trying to turn an evil into a good. Haters of the early Saints called them “Mormons” because they believed in The Book of Mormon. For a long time, they made good out of a name that started as a way to be derogatory towards them. Even their amazing television advertisements from the 1980s said they were brought to you by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a.k.a “The Mormons”. I think that in 2012, when it became clear the school system failed North American children (many of them have no clue about actual history - including Hitler!?) The Church didn’t change anything, they simply began calling themselves members of “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints”. Which is, and has been the official name of the Church since 1838.

What a take Ward Radio! 6:25: for a quote that is allegedly all about the faithfulness of his followers, Joseph sure had a lot of "me" statements. "I will come out on top at last", "I boast that no man ever did such a work", "For the last three years I have a record of all my acts and proceedings...my enemies cannot prove anything against me,", "As Paul boasted, I have suffered more than Paul did." This was a bad speech and I don't understand why you feel the need to stretch the intention just to defend it. I'd take the "he didn't actually say it" or you "caught him at a bad moment" argument more seriously.

I can never make up my mind what Joseph Smith looks like. The old photo with a little bit of a hook on his nose here makes him look like a very, very average man. And then you see him with his blue coat on with his brother Hyrum looking like a swashbuckling hero. I'm thinking there might have been some bad artwork in those days, and he's somewhat in between those two. He's not a 6, and he's not at 10, but he's probably at 7. And it doesn't matter to me. It just seems strange that we have so many different looks for him.

I don't think your argument on that statement, supposedly from Joseph, stands. Hear me out, but there's still the part of that quote that said Christ "COULDN'T" do. If it was just about the supporters why didn't it go something more like, "Christ's followers couldn't do what you've done." However, what did it for me is that it was written by others years later. I don't think anyone could write accurately what someone said years after the fact without modern day abilities to "record" that person speaking the quote and then writing it from that. The other part that made me believe that quote is possibly both inaccurate and taken out of context is the letters you quoted where Joseph in his own words, said opposite what this anti-mormon was claiming. That is just my take on it. All that I know of what Joseph Smith taught and did was the opposite of putting himself above Christ, but instead honored, respected and revered Christ. Thank you for the information you shared, and for fighting against anti-mormon rhetoric. It's just sad what these anti's waste their time on.

When he talked about "rebranding to appear more Christian" I thought of several more possibilities that were obvious marketing but wasn't sure of the dates, so I made a list. Excluded are just newsworthy things like endowment presentation changes or two-hour block. "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" added to the cover of the Book of Mormon (1982) Was it really that long ago? The type font for all print media and building welcome signs standardized to highlight JESUS CHRIST (1995) "The Living Christ" proclamation (2000) South Park's "Meet the Mormons" episode (2003, DVD release 2006). Has it been that long ago? No internet spike here either. Not a church effort anyway. "I'm a Mormon" campaign begins (2010). Getting warmed up. The Mormon Musical breaks Broadway (Mar 2011 - present) Not a rebrand, but gets traffic galore. Romney announces and runs (Apr 2011-2012) Not a church rebrand, but generates a lot of traffic as well. Pres. Nelson presents the new Church symbol, emphasize the church's proper name, ends the I'm a Mormon campaign (Oct 2018). Clearly a church "rebrand", if you like. Church websites change shortly thereafter. So all that internet spiking was from two things the church did not even have a hand in. Would love to know what the dude blamed the rise on. 😂

Small point of correction, Cardon: the church was established 6 Apr 1830 as The Church of Christ (See D&C 20:1) The name of the church was officially changed after the revelation given 26 Apr 1838 to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (D&C 115:4). The Church was pejoratively referred to as "the Mormon Church" by the same odious people who called black Americans the N-word. Just as black Americans now own the N-word, and use it among themselves, we used "Mormon", turning its use to our own ends; but it is just as wrong for our haters to use "Mormon" when referring to us as it would be for them to use the N-word when referring to black people. With that in mind, just imagine when our detractors say "Mormon", they are instead saying the N-word - it paints them in a whole new light. You will get the innocent "I didn't know any better" users, then you get the outright racist types who know, but insist on using the word because they are asserting their power and privilege over those they deem to be of a lower status. Ugh!

There were small pockets of mother-tongue Hebrew speakers but the Babylonian exile had left the majority of Jews Aramaic speakers. The Samaritans had also been speaking Aramaic since the Assyrian conquest. Additionally, there were also hellenised Jewish communities who had taken to speaking Greek, especially in the Northern Galilee. Greek-speaking was, however, strongly associated with accommodation to paganism and Roman culture and was viewed with suspicion by many Jews. Nonetheless, educated upper-class Jews could usually also speak Greek, albeit as a second language, and there were Greek-speaking enclaves throughout the country."

@caitlinwhite237
@caitlinwhite237 7 ай бұрын
No the king follet sermon does not say this. King follet was a talk given at a funeral April 7 1844. (And it’s not considered cannon scripture anyways) The talk where the quote allegedly came from was given May 26th 1844. And this quote doesn’t come from Joseph himself. It’s a synopsis based on bulletpoints notes rendered into first person to make it look like Joseph said it. That was a common practice among historians in the past but not how we do things today. On an academic level we can’t even say with any accuracy that Joseph Smith even said this at all or if it’s accurate. At the beginning of the synopsis were told that Joseph read the 11th chapter of 2 Corinthians. In this chapter Paul ‘boasts’ in a sarcastic way to make a point: Certainly, here are verses2 Corinthians 11: 16-18 "16 I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little. 17 That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting. 18 Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also." So Joseph Smith using the same language to make his point is the context. And he’s not saying he’s better than Jesus. It’s a really dishonest mischaracterization. 🤷‍♀️
