Vedanta, especially Advaita Vedanta, teaches that the ego is an illusion obscuring the unity of the self with the absolute reality. Samkhya distinguishes between the material world and the conscious self, viewing the ego as a source of suffering due to ignorance. Yoga provides practical steps to dissolve the ego through disciplined practices, while Bhakti and Karma Yoga emphasize devotion and selfless action as means to achieve this goal. Thus, while Indian philosophies employ various methods, they share the common aim of ego dissolution as the solution to suffering.

No matter what you believe, at the End Vedanta Sutra was the End Conclusion by Sage Vedavyas. Sage Vedavyas compiled everything, gave everything, his Teachings are Bonafide & Final. His students spread different philosophies as per required by place, time, circumstances. His students also preached Karma-Kand but it's not the Ultimate Reality. Read About Mdhvacharya the Unified Incarnation of Lord Hanuman, Vayu Dev & Bheem. He was the Discipline of Sage Vedavyas & directly met him in this Age of Kaliyuga & later on gave his Conclusions based on his Meetings with Sage Vedavyas. For Example: Mahabharat Tatparya Nirnaya.

Greatly Explained Bhai❤ Avidya is most important, because sagun hi sahara hai nirgun(bramh) tak ka. Nirgun to kuch hota hi nahi. To bacha sirf sagun, jo ki hamare pass hai, ham jo bhi sochonge hoga to isi duniya ka! man ke par bas man hi hai. To isi duniya mai, khud janana hota hai, khud ko. To bat bas iss srushiti ko samajane ki hai, auor khud ko bar bar dekhate rahana, ki ye jo vishay hai, vo hame kaise badal dete hai. Ek to vishay(material) ko janana, phir vishya se hamare andar jo badal jaata isko janana(hamare andar hota hai ego, not a organ or material). Yahi hai vedant philosophy, yahi hai adhyatma. Agar khud ko janana hai to jagat(Body + all the things other than body) ko janana, yaani science ki samaj bahut jaruri ho jaayegi. Jis pal khud ko jan gaye vo vidya ho gayi. Khud ko jaan kar kuch bat pata chali, isko bolate hai vidya. To vidya life long process hai. Iss duniya ko sanyog auor automated janana, mitti se uthe ho mitti me mil jaaoge ek din, ye janana hi vdiya hai. To sabse pehale Tathya/Facts ko janana sabse important hai, kyunki vidya to apane aap me kuch hota nahi! To jab ham iss duniya ko janenge science me achhi pakad banayenge, to hame gyat hote chalega ki, iss material me kuchh anokha nahi hai, ye bas material hai isko material ki tarah dekho, isko bhogo nahi. To isi context me kaha jaata hai, जगत मिथ्या। तो जब तथ्यों से अवगत होंगे, तो आसानी रहेगी, खुद को देखने की। मैं बेकार हु, मुझे और अच्छा होना हैं।

@@Brajendu Nastika as per Vedas refers to the idelogies which don't accept the authority of Vedas, its very different from the nastika = atheist. So technically all six schools of Vedant are 'astika'. To name the sramana schools who disregard Vedas we have Buddhism, Pūraṇa Kassapa's Amoralism (akiriyavāda; natthikavāda), Makkhali Gośāla (Ājīvika)/Fatalism, Ajita Kesakambalī (Carvaka)/Materialism, Pakudha Kaccāyana's Eternalism and categoricalism, Mahavira's (Jainism) and Sañjaya Belaṭṭhiputta's (Ajñana) Agnosticism to name a few. This is directly taken from the wiki on sramanism, you can follow this up. So even if you consider Vedic as one school, there 7 'nastika' schools so its more than 87% These ideologues existed during Vedic times or even pre vedic times (the dating of Vedic period is highly debatable contrary to popular belief) so its not just from the last few centuries, these ideologies existed in the 1st millennium and many of them got lost to time.

Secondly, I dont identlfy as Carvaka either because we don't know much about them, all info currently available about them is documented in scriptutres of their opposing ideologues (Buddhists, Jains) and they are obviously not kind in their perspective. How Carvakas truly were is something we don't know yet. I personally think we can learn something from all ideologies but we need not tag or label ourselves in any of those buckets. I prefer to call myself a rationalist/agnostic atheist (popularized by Matt Dilahunty/Vimoh)

Philosophy happens when you don't find the scientific method to be sufficiently advanced to explain the material world. They tried to fill in each and every blank with some answer. Philosophy can take a backstage in modern era, it can serve at best as a way of coming up with a hypothesis. But that hypothesis must stand true upon testing through the lens of scientific method. If you don't know, just say you don't know.
