- Price Action - ICT - SMC - Supply/Demand - Support Resistance trading - Wyckoff method - VSA, etc. It's all more or less the same thing, some with extra steps. Different Terminology describing the same thing. With orders all being placed in the same/Similar locations no matter what and can be seen from Orderbooks/Heatmaps etc. Enjoy the Red Pill.

The smart money concept has been around for at least 100 years. When you listen to guys like Jesse Livermore describe how they trade, you realize they're saying the same thing. The only difference is that charts weren't as common back then and price action traders were reading the tape, but their reasoning was still the same. I think Wyckoff might have been ONE OF the first to explain price action from the charts. I have Wyckoff's original writings and have read it through and through several times. He's saying the same thing the SMC guys are but usually on a more macro level. Wyckoff even spoke about supply and demand. SMC is nothing but price action combined with supply and demand. Or, at least, that's how I look at it.

I studied the basics of SMC, I find it to be useful knowledge, it definitely gives some sort of awakening. However, to be profitable, consistently I don't believe it's enough as many factors are still very subjective. That being said, now I'm highly mechanical, go purely and literally based off of rules.

@@kocmoc86 well yeah. That’s what I mean dude. I watched ICT for three years before it hit me that he’s made up a bunch of fancy terms for the same strategies everyone uses. SMC is in my tool box and I find VWAPs to be better personally. Often VWAPS for support are in “fair value gaps” and upper Vwap breaks are often liquidity runs. So what I said, support and resistance.

SMC have a blind following because their guru show them how they "trade" without EVER incurring any losses, it never miss, EVER. Also they get the best entry you could possibly imagine through the sheer power of hindsight and picking the right "order block" or the right "fair value gap".. Yeah basically they're frying their brain looking at complicated version of support and resistance.. but since they failed at that, they think SMC is better, they just haven't mastered it yet and need more new concept every few months to perfect their learning process, and ONE DAY, they'll be profitable..
