"He goes to save Talia from the Joker, wasting time for his main mission". This is just a character flaw of Batman generally. Batman will always go save a life if he knows one is in immediate danger, even if it potentially puts more in danger. Batman will not let a person die if he can stop it. They literally make this point at the ending of Arkham City when he says he would have saved Joker.

I haven't even finished this response, yet I already agree with everything being said here. I find it insane how Atomsmith thinks Arkham Batman is a cold person since that can be disproven by so many moments in the Arkham games. Even during Arkham Knight when he's more distant and almost kills some people, it's because he's in a bad mental state from Joker and doesn't even trust himself with his friends. I actually say where Arkham Batman is really a cold person is in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, which tries to say he's warmed up thanks to Superman. Him coming out of hiding after Arkham Knight outright puts a target on Gotham's back and his arc from Arkham Origins is destroyed in an audio log. Heck, even Batman allowing Kirk Langstrom's tragedy as Man-Bat being displayed in a museum for entertainment is massively out of character.

i think people are kinda missing the point of his critiques with Batman in these games. He’s not entirely wrong, but even when he is, the defenses brought up aren’t great A) ignoring Arkham Batman has character flaws, so no his treatment of Tim isn’t okay, it’s not meant to be, so the rebuttal shouldn’t be that “actually it’s okay because he’s protecting him” B) Obviously Batman saves a bunch of people on the grand scale, but what Atom’s talking about is the more personal saves. It’s the same reason how technically Cavill Superman’s saved the world a bunch of times, but we all strongly remember Reeve Superman catching Lois, saving that cat, saving Jimmy from the dam collapse. Implicit saves don’t show the same level of compassion as a personal save. This is a long comment, idk if y’all are gonna read it, i’d be happy to come back and keep this convo going
@Skids08002 ай бұрын
For one this isn’t that long of a comment so quit acting condescending when they’re are far longer comments here. 2 Batman has justified reason for acting the way he does to Tim especially considering he thinks Barbra is dead and is trying to protect him in an extreme manner consider that it’s the worst night of his career. Being harsh is not automatically bad character writing. And 3 Batman does save plenty of people personally and Atomsmith said initially that he doesn’t save enough people at all and just back peddled when face with criticism. And Batman isn’t the most expressive hero anyway when it comes to his emotions so it’s entirely in character. Unlike your example with Superman where is his way more upbeat and expressive unlike Cavills version who is a cold hearted and generally a bad person.
@omarkarim22802 ай бұрын
@@Skids0800 well for starters, wasn’t being condescending. if you want me to be condescending, then sorry i misjudged people’s opinions on how long a comment is? i didn’t say him being harsh was “bad character writing” i just think people ignoring that flaw in bruce’s character is strange. all good characters have flaws, so trying to justify bruce’s decisions as “it’s not wrong, it’s entirely fine that he throws his kid in a cell” is stupid. Bruce has always been characterized as being distant from his family when things get tough, the Arkham games just missed out on the usual bit of “well then his family shows him how dumb he’s being and they all work together to stop the bad guy.” And as far as the saving people aspect goes, sure, Batman’s not super expressive, he doesn’t need to be, that’s not even something I brought up. My opinion’s just that having more specific saves matters significantly more than “Well, he stopped Protocol 10 so technically he also saved Metropolis in that game”
@Skids08002 ай бұрын
@@omarkarim2280 I just took the long comment part as condescending because it’s not that long to begin with and implying that we won’t read it because of that is honestly dumb in my opinion. As for Batman throwing Tim in the cell it’s entirely justified in the narrative why he would do it, as long as it’s justified it’s not. A problem even if it’s not logical. Since he’s trying to prevent Tim from getting himself killed by going after the villains in a petty attempt to get revenge for Barbra. As for the last point: it’s entirely valid to bring up the long term consequences of his actions. Sure Metropolis and Bludhaven might not be in danger now but since Strange confirms in the game they would also use the Arkham City program in those cities and likely wipe them out as well it proves that Batman managed to save them in the long run. Plus we also mentioned several specific people he saves. Both are valid especially when they’re both mentioned. It’s essentially trying to use as much ammo as you can to prove your point.
@omarkarim22802 ай бұрын
@@Skids0800 I’m not saying him throwing Tim in the cell didn’t make narrative sense, Bruce is under the influence of fear toxin, he’s fearing for Tim’s safety. You can still see Bruce’s justification for what he’s doing without thinking he’s right for doing so. Need I remind you, him doing this is the reason Tim gets kidnapped later? The game doesn’t even agree that it’s a good thing Bruce did that, why do you? And I’m not saying the long term stuff isn’t valid, but it’s also valid to want a more explicit showing of Bruce saving people. Give us a cutscene of the people on the ground, have Batman save some political prisoners DURING protocol 10
@Skids08002 ай бұрын
@@omarkarim2280 at this point you just seem to want more which is fine to have but that doesn’t make the Arkham games worse. And I wasn’t saying what Batman did to Tim was correct I’m saying it’s justified in the narrative for him to do it. Big difference

From where I stand, there are two somewhat decent arguments for why Batman shouldn't worry about Talia and think to save the criminals or political prisoners, first: 1):- It's Talia Al Ghul that we're talking about here; a person that is next in line to inherit League Of Assassins' leadership, a person, who is the daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, if she didn't trained beside Batman, she most likely trained Bruce(if Bruce was trained by League Of Assassins directly) and in some incarnations; she is hundred of years older than Batman like Ra's Al Ghul, this means that she's at least below Batman's skill-level or at best, she outclasses him and she has no qualms about killing... Meaning that it's not Talia, we should be worrying about here; Joker might as well be a actual clown in front of her with tomato nose and well... he already has the rest of the makeup; one joke about the time, he pushed a babystroller down the road and Talia might just give him the "French Revolution" treatment with the lovingly end of her sword. (of course, we all know that person beside her is not real Joker, but Batman and others don't know that) 2):- They should've given her more screen time to flesh her character to make us care about her or at least show us why that she's important to Batman (other than the implied long and complicated relationship).

Batman has called villains all kinds of things throughout the years and Victor is very much an animal.

These are my favourite games ever I easily have over 1000 hours between all games on different platforms. Y’all need to stop. People can have their opinions seriously I saw a bunch of responses to some mayo guys video too. It’s OK not to like these games if anything you’re just proving their point more by acting like this. Grow up, dude.
@Forty3Snakes3 ай бұрын
This is an over an hour long video over one criticism of a game franchise that hasn’t had a new mainline title in years. I understand you’re free to speak your opinion too, but this is totally reached a obsessive point with over a hour long response.
@kiteman02_643 ай бұрын
When someone posts a shit opinion, people are allowed to criticize it bro. Under the mayo didn't even finish the game and he started passing off his opinion in the most pretentious way possible. And when you post a discussion video, people are gonna discuss. You're acting like discussion is a bad thing. Maybe if atomsmith's opinion was formed by shit in the story, he wouldn't be clowned on so much. The fact that there's an hour of debunks in this video is a testament to how stupid atomsmith's opinion is.

When people make factually incorrect statements like "Arkham Batman doesn't care about anyone and shows no emotions" or spew nonsense like "Arkham Knight feels like Batman porn" people are going to clown on them. Mayo himself stated that he didn't even finish the game yet he still posted a video where he discussed his thoughts about it. It's honestly a good thing that he didn't talk about the story that much considering he didn't even finish it.

@@Webslinger2005i said its okay to havw your own opinion in the first comment. Your calling the guy stupid and stuff when you just said its okay to have a opinion which i agree with but this game series gets almost no criticism and when it does i dont think the whole fan base needs to attack the guy calling his opinions stupid or “clown” on him. You can just ignore it. Its a opinion. You all need to grow up a bit.

@@Webslinger2005and batman is much colder in the arkham series than say the animated series so the criticism is somewhat justified he resembles the new batman adventures or justice league animated version much more i dojt know why thats “factually incorrect” its just a opinion and at the end of the day the games r still there your fine you dont need to go “clown” on someone for saying something you dont agree with

Dude gives a mild take and the fanboys freak out nothing he said warrants an over 1 hour long “response” this is kinda cringe and also hilarious at the same time

This is a weird take considering he made a public video and people are allowed to respond. It has nothing to do with being a “fanboy” when Atomsmith blatantly misrepresents the events of the games lol.
@nyx-03153 ай бұрын
His take is anything but "mild" since it misrepresents the arkham games also how are we being "fanboys freaking out"? We decided to make a response to a public video which is a very thing to do on this platform. It's over an hour long so we could try to provide context as well as not misrepresent the atomsmith. This video is also a response to 2 videos, not one. if it takes an hour to present context and arguments so we could be as thorough as possible I don't see the problem Comments like this are not helpful at all your not giving any significant criticisms to the video or defending the atomsmith at all.

@@nyx-0315 “how are we being fanboys freaking out ?” He asks but then proceeds to write a paragraph trying to defend someone making an over 1 hour long video that’s literally someone getting their panties in a twist over a differing opinion of how the protagonist of a dead game franchise acts and feels do you not hear how dumb this shit sounds ?

@@Sully.. funny how you downplay atomsmith by saying its a differing of opinion when said opinion is based on flawed information and arguements. The atomsith once again is an arkham focused channel who is misrepresenting the arkham games. We are not "getting our panties in a twist" when we make a response (I worked on the video) as opposed to harassing him. Also if we were petty, we would repesent him in a bad light. However instead in the response, we do not misrepresent him and instead give full context of his arguments as we are providing the counterarguments. How about instead of coping over this vid being over an hour long and downplaying the content, you actually engage and give criticism to what we are saying. If you don't want to fine just don't watch the video.
