I remember asking my piano teacher, "Could you teach me the middle bit of Clair de Lune" he smiled and said "Sure, but be careful" with a massive grin on his face (he knew I was going to love the crap out of it). I enjoyed it so much I haven't stopped learning the piano since. And now that he has passed and our lessons have finished I can't help but smile uncontrollably throughout the whole piece! And when I get the whole piece just right, I laugh thinking of him. Piano is my drug!

I don't know how this piece is originally supposed to be played, but there are so many versions of this here on KZbin where the notes/chords, especially in the beginning are played in such a rush... I really hate those versions. I like this one because, from the beginning to the end you play every note in such a peaceful and relaxed manner. Thanks for that :)

Filipe Pereira as far as I can tell this is pretty similar? Maybe a bit slower with slightly altered rhythms? V similar tho

Many versions available on KZbin play the first few chords quite hurriedly. Kyle doesn't, and I like the way he played it.

if you look at the sheet music, you can see that the way most people play it is very different to the way Debussy wrote it to be played, not saying they're all wrong, just saying he thought different.

One of my favourite things about pianists is how their hand can flow like feathers across the keys but all of a sudden change to lead when they have to play loud. You are an amazing pianist, and have been one of my favourites for a couple years now, you go kyle! Great rendition of this wonderful song!!

I honestly have to say that was one of the prettiest interpretations of this song I have ever heard. One thing in particular was that this interpretation didn't feel rushed. It had a nice blend of expression and dynamics and was very well played. Superb job!

Hello Kyle, I'm a french "fan" ! I follow you for 2 years, and it's every day a pleasure to listen your gift of the music ! :D I believe you're one of the only pianists who feel enough the piano to play so well ! You must receive lots of messages like this one, but for me, you're an example and you gave me the desire to play better than never (I'm a pianist too ^^). In this two years, I have progressed unbelievably and I can say it's thanks too you, Liszt, Chopin, and Debussy ! ;) Thanks you again and again, I hope I would be able to send you an interpretation of one of your arrangements or pieces in order to honor you ^^ (You know, I venerate nobody, but your're nearly an exception !)
