The FDF Raceshop Corvette has been in the works for over a year, and we happened to be at it's debut event in Canada at the LZ World Tour. We managed to get a full in-depth tour of the C6 Corvette drift car on it's launch and learn why this C6 drift car is the most advanced drift car in the world!

This is weird for me, I drove this track quite a bit between 98-01 and worked on a F1600 team 01-06. Such a head trip watching all these guys shred my “local” track. Ever since Calabogie opened and we all got old, we just don’t get there much. Mosport, Shannonville, Tremblant. Those were the big 3 back then. We also ran F1600 as support races for F1 in Montreal , champcar in Toronto and three rivers. Good times. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

This shim game in suspension of that amazing Corvette reminds me of japanese RC drift brand called Overdose, also known as Weld in big cars world. They do something similar, the best magic aluminium very expensive parts for RC drift cars which are so ahead in comparision to its competitors. Awesome work and video as always!

FOR THE RC DRIFT TRACK IN THE ROOF: Get some plywood make the track on that then a lift point in the center with a chain block or winch in the roof 4 cables, one on each corner with a free roller pulley directly above then another one in each corner of the room with a counter weight in each of the cables to keep it stable with the up and down movement of the track.

Parallel steering is the important thing to note. Most kits can get 70 degree on the lead wheel, but not on the trailing wheel without this kit. Just for some context!

Most of the decent arms are now solid steel vs fully tubular since strength is more important than super light weight, your fancy suspension is no good if it breaks the first time you dirt drop or tap a door. At the level you are replacing every part of the suspension a bit more weight is a small concern.

I can't help but equate the words "advanced" drift car to something with electronic traction/yaw controls... basically cheating. Suspension/alignment mods specific to drifting have come such a long way, what else is left besides making cars damn near drift themselves?
