Thank you for sharing this. I find this interesting because when I heard about Nosferatu 1922 being an allegory for antisemitism I didn't think of it at first but the explanations did make sense. I also watched Eraserhead recently and although I know David Lynch talked about it being about how he was not ready to be a father, looking at it from this lens it was released in 1977 which was 4 years after the Roe v Wade decision in the US. Might be reaching but could definitely find people empathising with that character from both genders.

ohh that’s soo interesting!! I definitely see the connection with allegory!! I think with all piece of media / art it’s rly important to look at the historical context as it may lead to some deeper discovery within the piece such as what u mentioned with Lynch. Tbh I don’t think it’s a reach at allll
