Bought one of these off ebay, it arrived, lit up moved as it should, didn`t engrave ANYTHING, asked the seller for help, sent me another one (no questions asked, great seller in my book) , this one DID engrave stuff BUT EVERYTHING it engraved was reversed (easy get around just reverse/flip the image bit a pain in as...neck to keep track of). swapped the lasers over now have a working as it should original machine. (tip you want to make stamps get the rubber flash foam sheets (expensive but the detail is great) and engrave onto those, press hard into inkpad for a few seconds then wipe face of the stamp clean works great, also works on printable PVC Credit cards (even after printed on) so great if youre doing membership cards once you've sorted a laser template.)

@@andreaswitten got mine off a link on one of the other youtube video comments, as the first I received didn't have it, if yours is only a little bit buggy you`ve done well, its shockingly bad software, whats yours doing wrong?, theres a few work arounds I do to make it more manageable, for example if your pic has a white border the software automatically resizes it down to the nearest coloured edge (but only when going to engrave the image) so I add a few corner pixels to keep them sized/aligned, but usually involves working the picture more before I import it into the engraving software.

@@anthonywatkins1177 in lot cases, the software didn't found unit(driver fault). have to restart the PC. Mostly i have to realign the laser x-y position. Mostly it starts to engrave a few dots and than stop working, laser go to sleep. Did not eats all jpgs, maybe a matter of size?

i have purchased one like it. I tried all of my best to install the driver that comes with it and also from other sources, but all was unsuccessful. my system is windows 7 32bit. always giving me that the driver is not successfully installed and windows could not recognize it so I am not able to connect it and work on it.

The engraving size is small. However you can set the whole unit on any size object.

I managed to get mine working! Didn't realise that after the laser was set to go and just as I pressed start, I needed to change the depth of the lazer as it had re-set to 0

I purchased it using the referral link you posted above, after watching your video. I got the product after a month, and its not burning anything. Now Gearbest is not replying to tickets and not giving any support. Could you please help me to figure out the issue? The head is moving and I can see the laser pointer (set to a point), but there is no burn on paper. I even put my hand under it, and found out its not at all hot.

It happened to me as well. But not with this printer. Another one. Its most likely because the laser module is faulty. The best I did was to ask for replacement. Kindly do that. You can see in the comment thread a person named Olivia. She is from Gearbest. Try reaching her.

GearBest is not giving proper support and offering me half refund for the dead product. I even paid for product insurance, but no value I guess. Will definately mention this in my upcoming video Anyways, since my laser module is faulty, will it work if I order 2500mW and replace it? The 2500mw works with 12v. But this one is 5v. I have tried to customise like this. But you need a PNP transistor to switch from 5v to 12v to make it work. But its a good try. I would love to know how it turns out. Please keep me in the loop.

found laser has to be at %100 and depth at least %50 to lightly mark it, %75 to get a clear picture

mediamilan thanks, my engraver just arrived so I have the program. Also, a note for Mac users that want to use this laser, the program you are supplied with SCarve, is windows only. I got around this by installing Parallels on my MacBook and creating a Windows 10 system to run SCarve. Didn't take long to do either :) thanks again MediaMilan for making this video 👍🏻

Got the 1500mW Decaker unit shown here for my wife as an ~ impulse buy ~ for her but I wasted my time. Works as it should but beware - once you get your head around the poor software it is so slow taking several hours to cut a 75 x 75 mm picture image onto thin plywood.I did burn my mobile phone number onto the rear of my black plastic phone case in 16 minutes but that’s as far as I want to go so I have now put it back in the box after extensively playing about with the frustrating software.I intend to sell it on. I can only put it down to an impulse buy that went wrong.To be fair here the unit does what is expected and the quality of the item is very good and it can’t be faulted however as previously stated the software is not user friendly so to do scaling and anything complexly “simple” is still a frustrating affair and it just takes forever. I would hate to think how the 500mW laser unit performed at only a third of the laser power I tried. I have tried to do a review for Banggood on their own site - but it seems they only accept good reviews...

For the size of this laser it is very precise and really good. But yeah very slow but thats only because it has 1.5w laser. I think it was just made for hobbyist and it is fine. Good enough for that purpose I think. Thank you for taking time and like your honest comment.

+joey milly what problem do you have? Maybe I can help. I mostly plugged the USB first and then the power. Loaded up the program. Make sure the driver is installed and you are good to go.

Die Laser halten leider nur ca 20-30min bei Dauernutzung !!!! :( Schon 2 Stück dieser Laser defekt. Bei beiden Geräten musste das Lasermodul ersetzt werden (1000mW + 1500mW) Neues Lasermodul für 20€und weiter geht es . 60x60mm Bild dauert ca 1.5 Stunden !!! Pausen sind zwingend notwendig.

You have to find a driver that works with Windows 10. The driver supplied I think works only until Windows 7 or 8.

I am downloaded driver CH340 on internet page manufactured, instal, restart device and device is connected in Scarve software. Some times is not recognized, but after some plug - unplug USB connector is connected and work perfect

Did anyone foung a way to hack this machine to accept a gcode input? It would be a huge speedup to get it engraving raster rather than bitmap. I have it and apart from the speed it's great. Although I'll be probably buying CO2 laser next, this one will stay in use :-)

Actually I haven't seen any laser software that works on Mac. One idea would be to use the 3D Printing software and modify it to run this. Because its all the same x,y and z.
