Sooo great. i hear myself shouting noooo when you erase a great result, again and again and yet it's a very exciting game. I can't wait to replay it. Sometimes I think how it looks through the foil, THIS is it, but when you take it off everything is always completely different. Very exciting, but also hypnotic. Thank you for that!

Hi Peter Gric. This is so awesome! I would like to do this too. I have experimented with oil paints but the consistency of the paint is not good. Could you give me some tips on how to prepare the paint? If not with oil paint (which I prefer) then with acrylic paint, please. Thanks in advance.
@petergric2 ай бұрын
If you want to try with oils just make sure the color is enough liquid by diluting it with turpentine or a mix of 50% turpentine and 50% linseed oil (the more linseed oil the longer it will dry). With acrylics just add water. If you start with acrylics you still can continue painting with oils over it.

Hi Peter great stuff. have you tried adding more layer or glazing after the first layer would dry. Thank you
@petergric Жыл бұрын
Yes, with acrylics you can add as many layers as you want. However, it's good to protect each layer with acrylic medium before you proceed with the next one.

Hi Peter, I've just discovered this technique by researching Max Ernst. I'd love to know more about the materials you've used. It's not quite clear in the video if what you're working on is tile or plastic, and what you are spraying on the paint. Thanks

Hi Diane, I'm using here acrylic colors with water on a board primed with Gesso. The plastic is just a overhead transparency film.

Dendritic process also applies. Dunno what the difference between dendritic and decal / decalcomania is. Maybe one is manipulation of wet paint between two (slick) surfaces? Or is (dendritic) the name of the fractal like pattern? Maybe the (decal) is transferring or printing the dendritic pattern onto another surface... ach, to hell. I give up tryin to work it out! I'm no art pro or tutor. Both are exciting art techniques that are def worth trying out. Most satisfying. Don't talk - just do ,eh!

Hello Peter, The gesso underlay looks really smooth. It's impressive. I have trouble understanding how to proceed, mine is too textured (even after a sandpaper stroke) Maybe should I try an another Gesso primer ? It creates an awkward relief for the sequel If anyone has any tips?

It's possible but more difficult. The canvas has to be very smooth and mounted on a stiff board. Alternatively the unstretchered canvas could be moved on top instead of the film.

It will be difficult because you need the underground to be stiff. Also the pattern of the canvas will not make it easy to get detailed textures.
