Hi, I’m fairly new to the leveling truck world. I’m getting a 2 in RC level kit put on my 18 Nissan Titan and unsure what stock suspension/shocks are on there. Would I be better off getting any additional things put on like bilstein shocks? Also, do you have any maintenance tips for check ups to upkeep the integrity of the level kit? Like they say, you have to pay to play! Thanks

Since the pandemic has started I have done some work on my 2007 Ford F-150 XLT. Replaced the following: Intake Manifold Throttle Body Catalytic Converters 2 in. leveling kit My current project has been upgrading the audio in which I have replaced the OEM speakers for JBL speakers and currently waiting on a JBL amplifier to add in.

Dude that's awesome! How was replacing the speakers? I went with a Pioneer set when I replaced mine and they were okay, I wasn't blown away by them like I expected to be

So far they’re sounding good. A little more clear than the OEM speakers. But I had replaced the radio head unit a couple years ago so I’m sure that has something to do with it. Just waiting for the amp to come in this week and then gonna install over next weekend. Much love from Arizona

What’s up Andrew nice vid! Just wanted to mention that most rubbing comes from wheels with negative offsets, which means they stick out more. I’m running 33 inch tires and I had to do minor trimming due to the wheels having a -44 offset. The trimming wasn’t anything major just about an inch of the plastic trim inside the wheel well.

Thanks for the input Miguel! You're right, the setups I've run in the past did not have hardly any offset at all so that would make sense that a larger offset could cause rubbing with the same size 33 inch tires. Thank you for pointing that out!

Leveled my truck both ways. The reason I went away from the pucks is that my truck started riding extremely shitty and when I took my struts out one spring had a coil snapped off the bottom and the other spring was bent to hell. Now I have the ranchos and upper control arms meant for a lift and the truck rides good.

Andrew Does Life my trucks an fx4 and it didn’t come with ranchos. I have bilstein rear shocks and the the ranchos up front and the truck rides amazing.

I’ve heard that Bilsteins are of good quality shocks. I’ll look into them for myself. Is the ride stiffer or softer with them?

Andrew Does Life In my opinion bilsteins are probably the best you can buy for your truck. I woulda got their lifted struts but you had to reuse your stock springs which wasn’t possible for me. I replaced blown out stock shocks with the bilsteins so the ride was definitely a little stiffer. They’re awesome with a load on or pulling a trailer because they’re a lot harder to compress so the trucks not rocking like hell on any little bump.

Interesting. I'm not dissatisfied with the stock ride of my F150 but I would like for it to be a smoother ride. I'm definitely in the market for new suspension components so I appreciate your feedback and input!

Nothing to worry about my dude. I have an 04 f150 with a 2 inch leveling kit and it easily fits a 33 on 18s without any rubbing but depending on the width you may need to do some light plastic trimming. I honestly wouldn't go more than a 2.5 spacer in order to avoid any wear and tear that could happen.

I have run the same set up as well on my 2006 and I had no rubbing issues at all. As someone else in the comments pointed out most of the rubbing comes from people running larger offsets like a negative 44 or something. Even with a big offset like that though there shouldn't hardly any trimming at all required! :)

Yeah spacers can be sketchy at times. All the body shops I know of are instructed to not install them and make the owner install them themselves. Even if they do a tire rotation they're supposed to take the spacers off, do the rotation, and send the spacers home with the owner and have them re-install the spacers themselves haha

If you’re going that route, I have never heard a single person say something bad about Fox shocks. Truthfully once I am able to I am buying the Fox suspension kit as well. Get the Fox haha

I would suggest a 2.5 inch leveling kit (front only) and going with a 285/70/r17 tire! That should give you a perfectly leveled out, but still aggressive look

I hope this still gets answered but I do have a question now after a week of processing. When you use leveling spacers. Does the ride feel rough or does it feel the same as stock? Should I just get the leveling struts to keep the smooth ride or just go with the spacers of the ride is still smooth. I have an 18 f150 by the way. Smiling to the 19 and 20 I think lol. Thank man

The ride might be a tad stiffer when adding the spacer leveling kit, but since your truck is a 2018 it is still so new I doubt you would notice the stiffness at all. My truck was already pretty old when I did it on my 2006 and I hardly noticed any difference in the ride quality.

I have 2.5 puck style it caused problems cv axles to have a not so good bend in the boots would 2" to 4" upper control arms solve this issue

Right now I have 2.5 rough country it’s been a year and I haven’t had any problems i don’t know why people hate rough country 🤷🏻‍♂️ but I ordered a 6 inch rough country and I can’t wait when everything comes out of powder coat 😭

I have heard all good things concerning Eibachs, I haven't heard of the Geiser brand. My issue with the Eibachs is the need to switch the coils over to the new shocks, that's just not something I'm not interested in getting into haha
