There is a person who has made a copy of my voters ID card with a different picture and ID number. To delete that I had to run from pillar to post for 3 months. Despite that the BBMP officials has still not deleted the fraudulent voter ID card. I have given up trying now. The people working in these departments would not even be allowed by the devil to enter hell given how lazy they are.

I remember in 2016 people bought homes in Sobha Dream Acers society who got possession in 2019. It is 2024 now. How much they are suffering each day in last 5 years. The societies in Panathur are amazing but traffic problems are horrible.

Good coverage. Keep it up DH 👏 People have moved into this area in droves because it is “geographically closer” to IT corridor. But the “man made” mess of urban planning or the lack of it has ensured that those folks cant access the IT corridor without enduring pain. Solutions are too slow and never holistic, when they do get implemented the problem would have already grown exponentially. This is the curse that our country’s brightest minds, who solve some of the toughest problems for the world, have to endure. Very unfortunate.

I think all are at fault. BBMP gives permission to apartment builders seeing only the road that apartment connects to, they wont consider the fact that many such apartments will then converge at a main road or junction. Builders violate the plan and build more apartments than planned. People also buy without thinking about the downsides of the locality.

There are many apartments built on 2 lane roads. They should have at least 4 lane roads to build apartment complexes. They also need to remove gullies, build more parallel roads and relocate/redevelop small houses. Urban planning needed like in metros.

Even if you are able to cross the railway underpass and the S-Cross, there is so much encroachment on either side of the road that it restricts smooth vehicular movement. One thing you will find very common in Bangalore is that, the authorities don’t try to solve the issue unless it becomes a total deadlock for everyone and people starts going mad about the situation. Be it Silk Board junction, KR Puram, Hebbal cross road, Ejipura etc.. BBMP and BDA works slower than municipalities of tier 2-3 cities.

I travel almost every day from this road, and I use a two-wheeler. One of the biggest problems is lane discipline, especially two wheelers. I feel like an idiot standing in my lane and seeing others entering the wrong way and blankly looking at the oncoming traffic as if they will magically disappear!

This is a very good report.. while I don't use this road on a daily basis, I did use this on one fateful night to travel to Nusa, a nearby pub... damn.. it was 10pm on a Saturday night and was jus about 4 kms away from the pub.. I reached there at 11:45pm.. it was a night to remember. And I took an oath to never take that road ever again in my life.. having said that I work around the Bellandur area and have a lot of colleagues coming from Pannathur and no one, trust me no one wants to stay there but are forced to until they find a nearby alternative may be around Hennur or HSR, and the rents are super crazy there.. some of them are even thinking of getting out of BLR due to this (which mind u is not a good sign for such a growing city like Blr).

Panathur road widening and railway underpass works are happening at very slow pace. There are multiple accidents damaged vehicles, hours of traffic jam every day and night, much pathetic during rain. We need two way traffic here. It's been 8 yrs I am living here and experiencing 1 way vehicle movement. @bbmp and @south western railway, Request to quicken the road widening and railway underpass to resolve the problem. Thousands of people travel on this road, if you spend one day's taxes paid by these people together resolves decade problem.

We need a complete overhaul planning for roads in Bangalore especially newly formed office and residential areas in the last 10 years.. there are no proper approach roads for most of the areas as they are passing through old villages.. roads should have been planned around the village before permissioning for and apartment construction… Rayasandra road has not been repaired since 2018.. DH can probably check this for a very good story..

Few things to note: 1. Government is only actively working on this issue during election. After that things slow down 2. The builders sell flats to people mentioning the work will be completed in 4-6 months. Which is not true but people fall for it 3. People looking for flats to buy /rent they can see the roads are small, there is no proper commute but still go ahead and buy. Because it near and cheap 4. A lot of people use cars in this small road. Most of these cars have only one or may be two people. If people can use bikes then the trafic will reduce. 5. There is a CDP road in parallel from New Horizon to Varthur which is also half build and is on hold for the last two years. 6. This area is always flooded near the bridge because this was orignally a part of lake and is a low lying area. 7. One of the subways shown in the video is not a road but a bypass for water to flow to another lake. I suggest people to do proper back ground before moving here.

In near vicinity of Panathur railway underbridge, there is another infamous road with similar traffic jams. Its VIBGYOR school road in Thubarahalli, where you can experience traffic jams any time of the day. There are big apartment buildings in Thubarahalli area. And off late many apartments (huge ones) coming up in Balagere road and in CDP road. For all of these people (once the buildings come up) connectivity will be Panathur road (towards ORR) and VIBGYOR school road (towards Whitefield). Really don't understand the logic with which BBMP gives building plan approval without road connectivity. Seems people are being taken for granted...

much needed report... But other than the surface issues of commuters , the report dosent dive into the real reasons of such grave delay in building good quality road. No word about the ever sleeping slumber giant Indian Railway.. Where ever there is a railway line in Bangalore rural areas , one side faces massive neglect in development and infrastructure... Its high time to build good quality wide railway flyovers at all underpasses in these areas.. So that the vehicle load will be dispersed from one stressed crossing like this panathur to multiple ones.. Also the uncompleted ORR to Gunjur road + railway flyover should be completed in as early as possible.. This will decongest even the Marathahalli area and Carmelaram traffic..

I have been around this locality for about 40 years now. My father, grand father also lived here. I am very sure that this problem will not be solved, ever. These roads are just not meant for this kind of traffic. Even with best efforts authorities will only manage to move the traffic blockage to some other junction. Some of the problems: 1) single lane road converts into 2 lane one way; 2) bikes, auto’s create another lane on the wrong side and they all merge at one point creating the ‘bottle neck’. If all maintain lane discipline, the traffic will move smoothly even though it’s slow.

Most of the people who were interviewed will not have voter id registered in the area they reside in. Thats the problem. If people even register to vote not in their hometown but where they reside, it'll lead to political accountability. Also, BBMP is extremely corrupt and is like a headless chicken which only listens to State Govt. State has to manage the state, not local issues which needs a local corporator. Unfortunately, the BBMP elections haven't happened in last 4 years. First thanks to BJP, now thanks to Congress. Deccan Herald should do a story on how BBMP elections have been delayed. Absolutely frustrating to see the state of our roads! This stretch of road has been a nightmare for the last 10 years with zero improvement. It's like driving through a path to hell. The negligence from our government and politicians is just unacceptable. If they can't fix this, why not complete the CDP road that would connect to the ORR near New Horizon College? It was started years ago and just left to rot. And it’s not just this road-most of the roads in Bangalore’s rural areas are in terrible condition(Hofafrom to chennasandra , Surjapur Road , Varthuru , E City near Fruit market , Marathahalli, Munnekolala, Kundanahalli, Dommasandra to Attibelle like these many i can show). Calling this place an 'IT city' is a joke when the infrastructure is more like something out of a tribal area. Time for real action, not just empty promises! The area is a transportation nightmare. Public transport is completely absent, and reaching it requires navigating a hazardous underpass. Pedestrians are at constant risk, leaving residents with no choice but to use car or two wheeler.

The way Bengaluru south has infrastructure that kind of planning and implementation is required. We see people From Electronic City to airport can reach in 1.5 hours and to majestic ksr railway station in 40 min. The only solution to this is having buses every 10-15 minutes, making it convenient for people to favor public transport over their own vehicle. No road widening will alleviate this issue. The only solution is to reduce the traffic on the road.

Bmtc should also put in gps trackers into their buses and use a system similar to Uber for bookings, arrival and departure timing via an app. Unlike a road widening project, this would be cheaper and in the long run even generate revenue for the govt.

It's surprising in your entire video DH was not bothered to cover the progress on the Gunjur-ORR 6-lane 45 meter/150ft wide link road progress stuck near the railway line. Completion of the pending 2 km stretch inclusive of a rail over flyover at Panathur of the total 5 km link road will completely change the traffic scene. But then you need to make the next video on massive traffic jams at both ends at Gunjur junction and Embassy ORR junction.
