My family was station there from 1975-1977, it was a wonderful place to be a kid, neighbors new each other, kids played outside and we felt safe on that base...

My dad was stationed here from 1972-1974. I went to Rudyard high school down the road a few miles.

Wow!! What a surprise. Never thought I'd see those streets again. Was stationed at Kincheloe Feb '69 until August '70. House looks erierely like where our good friends Larry and Norma Fast lived. Good memories. Thanks for posting.

Glad you enjoyed seeing it! I just recently moved back here after moving to Traverse City for 3 years to finish school. I am now living on Evergreen Drive in one of the Duplex's instead of back on Forest Lodge Road in the single houses. Hard to beat rent prices up here and its the UP. Such a beautiful area!

Dad stationed at Kincheloe and we lived in a house like these the first year. I went to kindergarten on base 75-76 and 1st grade at Rudyard 76-77.

YeahI don't live there anymore, I moved down to Traverse City, but its a neat area for sure! I know a lot of people remember the base from back in the 70's and its a nice bit of nostalgia to see the housing is still up and going strong.

Damn, I wonder who plows the snow on the streets these days. Since it is no longer an active Air Force Base what city takes on the responsibility of maintenance and upkeep?

Chippewa County plows the streets and everyone else is responsible for their own yards/driveways.

Yeah I moved away for 3 years but I moved back to living on the base. I definitely can do more videos for sure. I have my go pro and a bike mount, or can just toss the gopro with the suction cup on the front of the van and drive around.
