Speakers: Mary-Anne Parker & Kimberly Buckley
Mary-Anne Parker is an End-of-Life Doula researcher and instructor,
practicing End-of-Life Doula, and Administrator for the Saskatchewan
Hospice Palliative Care Association. Her Master of Arts in
Interdisciplinary studies examined end of life care practices in Canada,
in particular the evolution and praxis of the Death Doula role. A
practicing Death Doula herself, she is involved in advocacy and
research which she hopes will establish the ongoing recognition of this
novel approach to end of life care. Before becoming a Death Doula, she
has enjoyed careers in marketing communications, adult education
instructor, and artist.
Kimberly is a 45 year-old on a mission: to make prioritizing mental health as normal as going to the dentist. Having overcome two decades of domestic violence, she has dedicated years to her own healing and education. She holds a diploma in Family Counselling and certifications in Addictions & Community Services Work. She has supported domestic violence survivors in a peer support and mentor capacity and is thrilled to further grow her experience as a doula.
