Is it normal to be catching Dorado from the shore?

Hi there, we have caught Dorado from the Margate Pier over the past years, but not as many as we did this season, What was different? This year we noticed a lot of bait fish and Garfish in the shallows close to the Pier. What confirmed the attraction of the Dorado to the Frontline is when we cut opened the Dorado and found what it was feeding on, every Dorado had about 5 or 6 Garfish in its digestive system.
