If you are talking about the garden channel Garden Answer, they have almost 2 million subscribers and they make their living by making videos, then put ALL that $ back into their gardens. We love your garden, your spirit, and your heartwarming stories. Comparison is like competition. That spirit of competition/comparison, can work against you. You have such a sweet demeanor. Your channel is only going to grow. I really like the fake tree design Jason is using! You should think about putting a real grouping of evergreens there! ❤❤❤

It is great that you do not clean up your beds. Many butterflies, moths, insects need all That leaf litter to Overwinter. To encourage a natural environment scientists tell us to wait to clean up the garden in April/May. Also birds will forage for insects, egg cases etc in the ground. As you mentioned, all that debris starts to break down and adds natural amendments to your soil. Do not apologize! Your garden is beautiful!

Are you kidding me! As I was watching, I was so relieved. I have been fretting whether I should be cutting back my perennials and my flower production garden. I had heard that leaving the annual plants in the ground is good for the soil to have the roots left in soil for the microbiology. Also, I had heard that the plants provide homes for beneficial insects. I see all the other flower farmers ripping everything out and prepping their beds with compost and leaves so that they are ready to plant first thing in the Spring. I get overwhelmed thinking I am a failure after my first year of flower farming. I totally understand how you feel if you compare your garden with others. You end up with such a lovely garden and your flowers bless so many. Just know that seeing your winter garden let me breathe today, really! I still have landscape tulips to plant. I am going to try your idea of cardboard and mulch over some of my dahlias. Thanks for that idea😊

Hi wonderful Crane 🎉! I have ivy that we intentionally planted in an area that nothing would grow. Love the green all year long and I don't mind trimming as I feel like it is just a maintenance issue like mowing the grass 😂.
