Nasto it seems u and ms fle are obsessed with kitchen curtains. Puting net curtains in the kitchen area is so old skool also a no no to avoid fire hazzard. Besides those net curtains are highly inflamable. Don't burn down your beautiful home. U don't need net or any curtains anywhere in the kitchen. The window is fine as it is.

@ItsNasto If your only worry is about privacy there are self adhesive tinted window materials u can place on those windows that'll give u complete privacy. U'll be able to see through from inside but no one can see through from outside the window.I can send some to u if u don't mind. Regards

You should get the rectangular and wider gutter. it will solve the issue. The inserted gutter is too small for a roofless balcony. You won't need to remove any tiles either if you get the bigger gutter.

Nasto, you have installed a pump costing about 18k, as you said. Please secure the underground tank opening for your security and pump. If a thief enters your compound, the first thing he will still is is water pump. It's better safe than sorry.

@Its Nasto I don’t know why the struggle with the kitchen windows. Many of us have told you fabric does not belong around water and fire. You should have bought wooden blinds that would not get stained or be a fire hazard. The blinds can be wiped down and don’t interfere with the stove or sink. Again, many of us have made this suggestion before.

Retaining water is one of the disadvantages of hidden/flat roof, these end up in leakages sometimes and high maintenance. There was no slanting of the roof in the roof design to direct water flow. A real flat roof professional would have corrected this..

​@ItsNasto Nasto, please Google " flat roofs v pitched/slanting roofs", you'll see why pichtched roofs are more practical than flat roofs which required less maintenance maintenance and have a higher lifetime value (20+ years compared to 10 yrs for hidden roofs).

@Its Nasto you cannot block water in with a wall and expect it to flow. You only need to remove that rim and install gutters. I believe this was also suggested in the beginning. It also looks like there is a dip in the area you are sweeping. You need to redo the tiles and pitch it to the edges. The damage is bc you did not install gutters to move the water where it should go. I believe there are gutters on Chef Matiko’s house. You should check.

1hp Dayliff well pump is the right choice, that's the kind of pump which is meant for the task. The brand is 100% ok. The other pump (connected from outside) is known as booster pump, and meant to maintain required pressure in the house. normally connected along the tanks outlet to the house. To increase pressure in the house, 1. increase the size of the tank or 2. Add the booster pump

Or use a " real" professional roofer of flat/hidden roofs. Traditional slanting roofs are still the best especially now that there are many alternatives to corrugated iron roofs and tiles.

The little pressure will enable you utililze the water prudently especially during the dry season. If the pressure is high, you will run out sooner. 🇯🇲🇯🇲 Another roof water problem…!! I’ve seen too many of these preventable, costly construction mistakes by so-called engineers/problem solvers. Nasto, now that you have the experience the first rule in hiring so-called tradesmen is as much as you can DON’T TRUST THEM….do your homework in researching the task so you have some idea of what is expected. They will do a less than ideal job whenever they can get away with it, whether knowingly or unknowingly they save themselves time and effort. At the end you’re the one stuck with the problem and more costly repairs. It’s evident that roof tiler DIDN’T USE common sense to slant the flooring of the roof enough so the water flows towards the CORNER, where the hole should have been. That hole and drainage pipe should’ve been at least 2 1/2 or 3 inches to prevent blockage from leaves, accumulated dust or other items like the balls you found. YOUR CONSTRUCTION WATCHDOG…..BOW WOW.
