I'm a little more than halfway through Foundryside and I love it! Especially Clef, I fell for him the moment he spoke the first two lines. And then wondered Only If Kell's Coat (A Darker Shade of Magic) has a voice. I think Clef and him/her would be great friends.

I am so relieved that you didnt love the first 150 pages of Keeper of the Lost Cities. I'm on page 162 and not quite loving it yet. Truthfully, I think one of my biggest pet peeves is just the way elves veiw humans, but the beginning is hard to get into in general. I really hope I love it!

I have never heard of Foundryside, but it sounds amazeballs. I’m definitely going to check it out! In December, I read: Beneath the Baobab Tree by Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani; Snow in Love by Melissa de la Cruz, Nic Stone, Aimee Friedman, and Katie West; No Exit by Taylor Adams; The Kingdom of Copper by SA Chakraborty; Damaged by Alex Kava; and The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. The only one I thought was just mediocre was Damaged; I loved the other five.

I just finished Foundryside. It was amazing. I could not get enough it. I also just picked up Circe by Madeline Miller and received some fantastic cheesy 1980's Sci-fi for christmas which I can not wait to read. :)

You can also read gone by Michael grant that’s a sy-fy story but it’s very dark and gruesome especially as you carry on with the series if you have a queasy stomach over graphic details then steer away and don’t read it but if your fine with that it’s worth the read

Warbreaker is a good one to start with. It's fast paced and it's a standalone so it's not too intimidating. Either that or the first Mistborn book, but that's a trilogy so it's a bit more daunting.
